Guys got smurf WR and KR written all over him. He could probably be a great wildcat guy.

Was he the QB that led them to beat Michigan?

Yes.

I could see him as a good slot receiver, a la Julian Edelman.

The guy has tons of talent. A late round addition would be nice

I wrote a thread about this guy a couple of months ago and ive been very high on him. Living in the heart of App state country i watched him a lot, and I believe he has the ability to play QB at the next level. He has all of the athletic ability in the world, and I thought he was a very intelligent player. I think this kid could be the steal of the draft

Most teams see him as a WR. Here is a video.

video does not do him justice, you really need to watch him for a whole game

Fell in love with him as a football player during that michigan game. The kid just made things happen, without fear. The type of QB who makes his teammates better. It's unfortunate that he doesn't "look like a" QB, because guys like him have what it takes.

Are you saying he'd be a potential QB or that he would simply be a KR and no more in Buffalo?

Ive seen him play multiple times, and mostly in his biggest games in the FCS Playoffs and against Michigan. He has talent no doubt but I dont think its as a NFL QB. His accuracy an is just bad and his throws are often wobbly coming out of his hand. He needs to be reworked mechanically as well. He is a run first, throw second style guy, with low football IQ.

He's a 6th Round pick who needs 3-4 years of film study and practice work before he should ever see the field. As a QB that is.

i would love to see another "edwards" get a shot at QB for this team, but only being smaller and from a smaller school. i believe people will lose their minds..

as for having an atheltic game changer play a new role in the NFL, i'm all for it.

Ill agree he was a run first QB, but I think that was due to the system he was in. I thought his arm was fine, maybe a little wobbly at times, but good enough. As far as IQ, i gotta disagree there. Thats what impressed me about him. For a guy who is indeed a run first QB, he seemed to stop the line at times and make a great throw and make easy plays. He reminds me of a michael vick who will stop and make those throws when he draws the LBs up instead of taking off. I was really impressed in the Montana game when they made that comeback. He made play after play in very harsh conditions and is the only reason App state had a chance to win. I would def take a shot late in the draft on him

Being able to hit an open WR because a LB left his zone, thus leaving the WR to run free is not what I am referring to in terms of Football IQ.

You or I could hit that throw that on a regular basis.

making the plays that are given to him and creating them at the same time is what im talking about. He was also very smart with the ball and didnt make dumb throws. not really sure what else you mean by IQ, but thats one of the things that impressed me the most is his ability to make good decisions for a guy who was often scrambling around. How much of him did you actually watch?

Football IQ, reading defenses, progressing through reads, pre-snap adjustments...things he doesn't do.

A barely over 2:1 TD to INT career ratio does not indicate in any regard that he is a good decision maker.

Ive seen about 15 of his games.

well i disagree with just about all of that. Every game was on TV here and he seemed great with all of that, thats what impressed me the most. no offense man, but something tells me you didnt watch him as much as you are leading on to and might just be reading some stuff

<HR style="COLOR: #f3f3ff" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message -->damn he was the QB i wanted out of all the scrub QBs coming out. i dont know if any of you guys had a chance to watch this guy saturday, but one QB that has been impressing me all year is Armani Edwards from Appalachain State. I live in NC so i get all of their games. This kid is no joke. I think he'll be a serious sleeper in this draft. He has the mobility of Vince Young, is pretty darn accurate, and has a good football IQ. He seems to stay very calm. App state lost saturday, but he still impressed me. The last drive of the game, he gave his team the chance to tie with some very tough conditions both weather wise, as well as game situation

So a Randall EL type guy..

Sounds like an excellent late round project pick, draft him along with Matt Kopa, a project OT out of Stanford that I like a lot.

Maybe if we weren't pretty much building from the ground up, he'd be a good late round pick. We have too many other needs to waste a pick on a project QB.

14 Armanti Edwards QB, Appalachian State
NFP Grade: 5.6

Scouting Report:
Armanti Edwards: Appalachian State, No. 14, QB/WR, 5-11, 185

Edwards is a limited quarterback prospect who lacks the size and overall arm strength to make it as a pocket passer at the next level. He possesses a wind-up to his release and isn't technically sound in any area of the game. But he's a gifted athlete who showcases the initial burst and lateral agility to make defenders miss in the open field and can create with the ball in his hands. He's a lot more physical than his body would suggest and he has the ability to stay on his feet to control and accelerate into the open field. He possesses good straight-line speed in the open field but is more quick than fast. Edwards will need to make the move to wildcat QB or wideout at the next level, but he has the athletic ability to get a shot in a training camp.

Grade: 5.6

Here is a Q&A with him, my site did;

Maybe the Bills will put lifts in his shoes.

On a more serious note, NFL teams might see him as a "slash" type player, a la Kordell Stewart.

I think the fact he only weighs 180 is the bigger problem at QB, he would get crushed by DL's & even LB's in the NFL.
