his is what I'm thinking:
Well, we certainly can understand why the National Hockey League wanted to keep the Sabres in Buffalo. We live in one of the country's few markets that would rather watch the Stanley Cup finals than the NBA Finals on ABC.
While NHL ratings have been tanking nationally, you can't blame the Western New York market. Game Three of the Anaheim-New Jersey series May 31 had a 4.3 rating on Channel 7, Game Four on Monday a 6.1 rating, Game Five on Thursday a 6.3. Those figures are well above the national average of about 2.5 for the three games on ABC. Buffalo finished No. 5 in the nation Monday, with the 6.1 equaling the rating that New Jersey's home market, New York, achieved.
