View Full Version : The Bills passed on J.J. Stokes because...

...basically TD felt Stokes wouldn't have been an upgrade over pieces already in place...

"The Bills did study signing Stokes, but determined he wouldn’t be an upgrade, instead turning to Jett. "

"“We’re just trying to make our roster better,” Donahoe said on Friday."

“We felt we needed another receiver and another defensive back prior to going to camp, and we were able to get people who have lined up and played, guys who’ve been productive in this league. "

isn't Stokes more of a posession type of receiver? if so, we dont need another one of those.. we needed a burner and apparently Jett was the fastest out there... There wasn't quality out there anyway. Shaw, Aiken, Jett will battle for the 3rd WR spot.

We're gonna run more hopefully and we'll use less 3 wr sets and more double TE sets.

TD must have forgot that it was 1997 since jett was productive....

and 2001 since cota was productive.

and that neither was never that good.

Is there someone else you want him to bring in T? Its not like there is Tons of Great players in FA right now.

2001 is the season before the last:D and he didn't start because the Rams had Adam Archuleta.

i would have much rather had lassiter.. or held out to see if st louis cut herring..

not really sure about receivers.. i like our top 4.. em, jr, bs, and sa.. 5th really doesnt matter that much... jett is not a big deal.. but to call him productive? he was productive for one season.. over 5 years ago.. not a biggie though.

Wouldn't it be nice if an A. Brown, or a J Myers would step up like J. McDaniel did a few years ago, and then stayed healthy and developed? I know, an offseason pipe dream.

Actually I'm hoping the Bills run the ball more out of 3 WR sets and save the 2-TE stuff for the redzone. Bledsoe and Henry did a lot better in 3 WR sets than 2 WR sets.

As for Lassiter, he wants too much money. The Seahawks are hot to sign him, but he's asking way too much and they're waiting for his price to come down.
