C.J. Spiller a realistic possibility?

With the latest acquisitions of LB Andra Davis and DE Dwan Edwards to the new 3-4 defense, the Bills have remained quiet since then in the free agent market, but who could blame them? There are slim pickings out there right now, so don’t expect any more movement by the Bills until possibly after the draft.

Some interesting quotes have popped up lately from Bills GM Buddy Nix and new head coach Chan Gailey this past week at the league’s meetings in Orlando. A few of them have raised some eyebrows with Bills fans as the team prepares for the last month before Christmas Day (um, excuse me) the NFL Draft on April 22. I think he was looking at the idea of a guy on Saturday not Thursday.

Spiller would be a luxury pick when we have clear as clear cut crystal needs elsewhere on the roster.

I agree. I just think an article about Dexter McCluster in round 3 or 4 isn't very interesting. When you have a guy like Charles Davis say he thinks Spiller will be the Bills pick, it's definitely worth discussing IMO.

The guy on twobillsdrive that predicted we would hire Chan Gailey also said CJ Spiller is being looked at closely at One Bills Drive.

Spiller is the guy IMO, that can have the biggest impact on the Bills from day one. We are going to rely on the run game to put up points so we need someone in the backfield that will make it easier to get down the field.

Spiller is what this offense is missing for Gailey to run it the way he wants to.

drafting a RB that early no way does that help us we are paying good money for freddie and lynch need a Oline to block for them too

I think spiller is a lot more of a possibility than most are willing to admit.

Honestly it wouldnt surprise me, this coaching staff and Nix are not married to any of these players

Maybe they dont like Lynch as much as the other staff did

I cant say I would hate the draft pick because I like Spiller the player but he would be far from my first choice

Fred and Lynch make under 2 mil combined.

Not saying that we should draft Spiller, but the money spent won't be why.

In fact that's the reason we stay with Fred and Lynch, they're discount players right now.
