.... considering Buddy Nix was at the Chargers when they picked up the undrafted STEVEN COOPER who has turned into a better than average ILB, I was wondering if there were unheralded prospects who would look good on our practice squad at the very least from the University of Maine.

Players who have come from the Black Bears recently include Jovan Belcher (ILB, Chiefs), Mike DeVito (DE, Jets) and Brandon McGowan (FS, Patriots) all of who are starting. Montell Owens has been a special teams demon at the Jaguars, whilst Mike Flynn started 115 games for Ravens and won a SuperBowl ring.

All could have helped our team expecially when you include our switch to a 3-4 defensive alignment.

Not one of the above cost a draft pick.

Potential prospects that we should look to call at the end of the draft, to sign as UDFA include:

    Jordan Stevens OLB/DE 6ft2, 251lbs
Experience on both the line and in the linebacking corps and finished the 2009 season with 10 sacks

    Tyler Eastman OT 6ft6, 321lbs
Not as strong as Vladimir Ducasse, but with better agility, he had 2 years experience playing LT and may have the necessary size to play the right hand side in the pros

    Brandon McLaughlin ILB/SS 6ft3, 240lbs
Until his senior year, played as a huge SS but made the smooth transition to LB ending up with 66 tackles with 10.5 of them tackles for loss.

    Mike Brusko WR/FB/QB/P 6ft3, 224lbs
the ultimate wildcat option. He switched from QB to WR in his senior season, making 52 catches for 464 yds and 3 TDs, punted for the team and has the size to be a full back. You want trick plays ... you got it

    Landis Williams WR 5ft10, 174lbs
Not big but averaged almost 80yds a game catching 71 balls for 798yds and 9TDs

It is clear that we will lack depth on our roster and need some decent bodies on the practice squad with our significant overhaul of the team and considering how the Black Bears often provide the league with a surprisingly effective undrafted player, maybe Buddy and Chan want to take a look.

great post. awesome analysis. I think the bills have had a great deal of success finding and developing tackles and oline lateb in the draft. Adding athletes with size and speed who can be coached up, is what nix and company need to do to rebuild the depth on this team. Thanks for mentioning some more guys to look at.

Darren Stone went to U of Maine....Stone committed an unnecessary roughness penalty that cost the Ravens field position (moving them from near midfield to their own 14) at a critical time in the game during the AFC championship game.....He was also arrested for drunk driving and is out of the league.....I sat next to him in Spanish class, he went to Lockport
