The Buffalo Sabres have called up both Mark Mancari and Nathan Gerbe from their farm team the Portland Pirates in Portland Maine

According to the Maine Hockey Journal Mancari and Gerbe were dressed for the game against the Wolf Pack and took the pre-game warmup but both were scratched. Also the Pirates broadcast stated that Both were out of the lineup and are on their way to the "big club".

The Sabres are the only ones that haven't confirmed this.

Adding more heart and determination is never a bad thing.

But this must also mean Vanek is out :funny:

Hopefully he's a healthy scratch.

Kaleta

Connolly, Thomas Vanek and Patrick Kaleta all have injuries, with Kaleta's believed to be the most serious of the three with an upper body injury. Connolly and Vanek have what are described as lower body injuries, and all are expected to miss Monday's game at Boston.

Why the hell do we always have to have these end of season injuries right before the playoffs? Damn it! Out of all of those...Kaleta concerns me the most. He's the one that we missed earlier when he was out. :ill:

What is the ETA on Torres?

He's day to day. He practiced normally today so I would guess maybe by the end of the week, although is purely a guess.

another one of Darcy's trade deadline disappointments. I had totally forgotten about him already.

It's hardly Darcy's fault that he hurt his wrist in practice.

You completely missed the point. He's so irrevelvant that I didn't even realize he was out. It's not Darcy's fault that he's injured, but Darcy is the one who traded for a forgettable player.

Torres could end up being a nice player in the playoffs. He is a tough son of a ***** and has some touch. I agree it wasn't an earth shattering move but no where near bob Corkum.

He played how many games for Buffalo?

You're used to seeing them without him which is why none of us have really noticed. He hasn't even been here long enough to make a difference.

On top of that, Darcy gave up Paetsch, who did nothing but eat nachos in the press box.
