Good Find. Thought it was cool to see the stats "blind", without the usual bias for/against

Tebow is a project. But if there is anyone who will do what it takes to be successful based on character and hard work, he's the guy.

If you get him in the 3rd or 4th round it would be worth the risk. We need LOT, NT first.

My argument with Tebow is simply,

I would rather be the team that took a gamble on a talent like Tebow than one of the other 31 teams that passed and regretted it.

To me, the risk is worth the potential reward.

I agree but I wouldn't want them to give up too much to get him.

If we went by college stats, Alex Van Pelt should be getting himself ready for Canton.

He threw for over 10,000 yards at Pitt, breaking many of Marino's records.

Round 4 or 5, Ill take him, before that the risk is way too much to warrant the pick in this deep of a class.

Who says I'm a Tebow hater? I love the kid. I really hope he succeeds at the next level. I would love to have him in rounds 3-4. It is the media, and the fans who follow him like he is the next messiah that piss me the **** off. If you can't see that he is a work in progress you are one of the blind fanatics I just mentioned.

I do however believe with a lot of practice and some good coaching, Tebow can succeed. He has the right physical tools and the right attitude.

Well this is take 2 of his re-worked throwing motion. It didn't work last time and he had just as much attitude and will then. What makes you think it will stick this time?

No way has he fully changed his mechanics, throwing style and habits yet. I said he needs practice and coaching. Come on DB, he won't be ready to play pro ball for at least a year, probably more. You don't change habits you've had your whole life overnight.

I assumed you were a hater by your post that I responded to. Of course he is a work in progress. VERY FEW QB's come into the NFL that are not a work in progress.

Tebow is going to make alot of money off "talent and will".
That seems to be his draftable asset. Not that he can play QB in the NFL successfully, but that he has "talent and will."

Whats the percentage of players in the NFL that dont? Make football my job and say your going to pay me millions of dollars and I will be out 8 hrs a day throwing the football until I look like the poster child for perfect technique. I wont be good enough for the NFL, but I will look like I do. That is the easiest part. If hes looking at a role in the replacements II then his on camera form is great.

Now to reduce all the hype. Can he play QB in the NFL? With pads, with defenders rushing, with receivers running a full route tree, option routes, reading defenses, making the perfect throws when needed.

If the answer is a def. yes within two years. Use the second. If the best he can do is impress people by escorting little old ladies across the street and saying "yes, sir." Pass and pass completely

VanPelt wasn't 6'3 240lbs with a cannon for an arm.

More like 5'9 275 with a chocolate chip cookie for an arm.

There is a high percentage of players that fail to see it that way. For them, football is not a passion, but a job. Once they have been PAID they no longer feel the need to work. A perfect example is Jamarcus Russell.

There is no way to say ANY draft pick will definitely work out.

I dont know how this will play out after hes drafted. This is just directed at his pre draft improvement and all the hype thats being generated. Any athlete worth a glance is out busting his or her butt this time of year. Hours working on a 40 yd starts for example.

After draft if he sits like A Rogers and then when he gets his chance years from now and shines, score.

Its def. a weigh your options. Do you use a second on a three year project or do you say trade you first next year for a S Bradford.

I agree with you ANY potential draft pick is working his butt off BEFORE the draft. It is the SPECIAL PASSIONATE players that continue to do so after they have that BIG payday.

We will find out about the passion Jason Peters has for the game this year. I would put my money on Tebow being a person like Tom Brady & Payton Manning that do the extra nonmandated things to improve his game, unlike a certain QB on the Bills that enjoys playing Golf in the off season.

We can't afford another "RISK" pick at this point. The Steelers, Patriots, Saints, Colts, are all teams that can afford to make a bold pick but we're in no position to do this.

We don't even have a legit starting QB and you're sitting here talking about taking a risk on a QB? pffft

In life sometimes, you have to take a risk to gain a huge reward. If you don't take that risk you live a 7-9 life.

Yea...boy those risks with Donte Whitner, trading up for McCargo and Losman REALLY paid off. So glad we took those risks.

Who knows Losman might have paid off if Dick was never hired. I HATED the Whitner pick, but there was not a lot of talk that he was a big risk. McCargo, I had hopes for............oh well.

I don't go that way, but you have to admit he looks a LOT better than Clausen or Bradford as far as his build is concerned. I think he will be like Jim Kelly & Brett Favre & he will not get injured much in comparison to Bradford & Clausen.

bc I as well as other posters are simply pointing out your unhealthy dude crush on Tebow. I will admit I am a bigger Tebow fan than most others. That is because I am a Gator fan & have watched him much more than most others on this board. I apologize if I wierd you out about that, but I still do not think it is an excuse for personal attacks.

Would you really be happier & do you think this board would be better if everyone agreed about everything? I think it is the differences of opinion that make this a great board myself.

If we had to take a QB this year, then I'd much rather we take Tebow than Claussen.

I'll take my chances with the unfinished product who has athletic ability, a strong character, NFL prototype size for position, strong history of success, and coachability, rather than yet another mental midget/headcase (ala Losman).

I'd trade down in the first to get an extra second. Use the extra pick on Tebow.

Considering how you felt the need to defend Tebow when I brought up the fact that he was home-schooled, I'm not sure you can always identify a personal attack when you see one...just sayin'.

I'll tell ya what, I was really on the fence about Tebow before reading that article. I would be more than happy to draft him in the 2nd round and take the "risk."

The only "risk" I see is that we have to figure out which existing QB needs to be put on the practice squad.
