Tough feelings for a team we can't put up a decent fight against anymore.

I hope we don't see them in the playoffs.

I'm pretty sure similar things were said the season after the lockout.

After that we beat Ottawa like what? 4 times since then?

Sounds about right.

They won't face Ottawa in the first round unless Ottawa suffers a major collapse in their remaining games which I don't see happening.

My best case scenario would have Pittsburgh/Ottawa in the first round.

Yeah thank god. For whatever reason that it is, if we matched against them in the playoffs WE WILL LOSE.

That last game against Ottawa could be huge. Even if the division is already settled by then, the Sabres need the confidence boost going into the playoffs.

I still think the Sabres are done as soon as they meet Washington or Ottawa in the playoffs, and they'd definitely be underdogs against Pitt and NJ as well, although we match up a little better with those two.

Yup and they get tougher with each loss. I don't want to see them in the POs either but thats a whole different animal anyways. Anything can happen then.

By different animal, you mean how both Ottawa goaltenders have a combined 0 minutes of playoff experience while Ryan Miller has a decent amount under his belt?

actually Sabres magic # is 3, Brian Koziol updated that on WGR55 Sabres Post Game show last night.

If the Capitals win tonight against Nottawa, the magic # would be 2 to clinch the E.C. Division

Not sure of the math on that.

Ottawa can still max out at 99 points, which puts the Sabres magic number at 6.

A Winning Magic Number is the number of consecutive upcoming games a team must win to guarantee winning a given playoff spot.
