Bills strength coaches removed all tv's from weight room. Fred Jackson said they said it's a place to work. Gotta like that attitude. - Sal Maiorana

Just'a good ol' boys
Never meanin' no harm.
Beats all you ever saw
Been playing football
Since the day they was born

Straightnin' the curves
Flatnin the hills
Someday the mountain might get 'em
But the Pats never will

Makin' their way
The only way they know how
That's just a little bit more work
than Dick would allow.

Makin' their way
The only way they know how
That's just a little bit more work
than Dick will allow.

I'm a good ol' boy
You know my momma loves me
But she don't understand
They keep a showin the Pats and not my Bills on TV

these are the things that happen to a soft team when a new regime comes in.

They'll have to earn their TV's and time off. Not just get it so easily handed out.

I bet if the coaches felt these guys were mentally tough and hard workers, they wouldn't care about a TV being in the Gym. but becasue they have shown to be so lazy, so injury prone, so lacking of heart on the field, they have to show them tough love.

and the guuys who complain the loudest about these changes will be the ones who get kicked off the team during TC.

These are welcomed changes indeed.

I misunderstood this at first, but I get it now...

They pulled out Popeye's and BK's for the troops? Man, that is ****ed up. Regardless of your opinion on what is happening over there, to say that it's not a play ground is over the top. The fact that people are shooting at you would probably take away any delusion you had about it being a playground.

yeah, i think the troops deserve to eat whatever the hell they want while on base. it's probably good for morale to have some comforts of home.

its not like they are dropping their guns on the battlefield and running to BK.

I like the bills making it hard on overpriviledged players. I don't like the army sticking it to an already over worked group of soliders.

believe it or not, that was intentional. The Cover 2 D relies on smaller, faster players- gap control on the DL and zone pass coverage from the LB's and DB's.

That just shows you how stupid the previous coaches and FO were. We were undersized at literally every position on D.

The Bills have two new strength and conditioning coaches, and players noticed a difference right away in the team's large weight room.

Said guard Eric Wood: "It’s completely different. We went from 12 TVs to zero. We updated all the weight room. We have a pretty advanced weight room in there, a lot more free weights. There’s different stuff that works and this is the approach they’re taking. Hopefully we’ll run into a string of better luck as far as injuries go, and I don’t see how we can’t."

Said running back Fred Jackson: "It’s a completely different place in there. They got all new equipment. Some of the equipment we had last year they just got rid of. It’s a different place in there. ... One of the things (Chan Gailey) said to us yesterday in meetings. He kind of felt like it was a spa in there. He wants us to go in there and work out. That’s what they’re trying to nail home and I think a lot of guys are buying into that."

for people like us just trying to get our heart rate up and fight bad cholesterol, a TV being on isn't a big deal.

For someone trying to be in peak physical condition, you need to be focused.

probably like how most of us do our jobs with a TV on so that we can get stuff done on the computer. While the players can surf the web with music.

On top of what everyone already said, this is why I specifically said during weight lifting. Having a TV on while riding a bike or on a treadmill isn't a big deal, but it is when lifting.

I don't care about whether people can work out just as well with or without a TV. I'm sure it's different for each person. It's going to help at least SOME people not to be distracted. Not having TVs sends a clear message about what the players are there to do. It's an excellent move. They aren't there to be pampered.

Also, it might just force some of these guys to get to know each other a little more, talk to each other instead of watching TV. I don't care who you are, if a TV show gets its hooks in you, you want to see what happens and are therefore distracted. "Let's do some reps next commercial."

I agree, but I don't see any of these guys not having a bike or a treadmill in their own homes, really. There are plenty of ways to get that same workout outside the facility, too. Think about that.

The Ravens have the most state of the art facility in the NFL for their players, which includes a spa, video game area and gasp at least 8 tvs in their weight room. I know the idea of new and "getting away from club Jauron" is going to be exciting, but let's not turn tv's into the straw man of the Bills not making the playoffs.

Anything to shake things up I suppose can't hurt, but this seems like a reach.

This reminds me of Major League, where the owner says "We're coddling these guys too much!" and proceeds to take away any and every luxury.

What's next to go for the Bills? Hot water?

The worst part about our Cover 2 was that we had small guys...but they weren't even that fast!

I remember watching the game against the New Orleans Saints this last year. In the 4th quarter, all NO did was run to the outside...where we had no one there. I was thinking "where the heck are the OLB's and why can't our 225 lb. LB's get to the outside faster than the freaking offensive linemen?"
