Breaking news on ESPN 2

At least now we can reasonably assume the Redskins will target the O-line in the draft.

If anybody didnt already think Jay Glazer is the best insider there is, you should change your stance now.. he first brought up the Skins yesterday, and today the deal is done.

Its on ESPN right now, and Adam Schaeffter is tweeting about it. This sucks.

The draft changes for us, Okung or one of the DTs goes to the Redskins at 4...and either Berry or Clausen (depending on who the Browns take) fall to us at 9

Wow.

McNabb is going to light Philly up when he plays them.

how long before the Jason Campbell to Buffalo speculation begins? I could see that happening now.

100%...that is if Campbell didn't go to Philly in this deal (which I doubt he did). My feeling is that Campbell ends up in Oakland to compete with Gradkowski and the Raiders release Russell.

We should be able to nab one of the top QBs, unless Oakland scoops one before us, which with our luck would not surprise me, watch it will be Bradford to slide too, St. Louis will take Clausen and Bradford will go one pick before us.

I don't know... I can't see that Gailey and Nix see him as enough of an upgrade to give up a decent pick for him. More likely, he will be on their radar next year if he becomes a free agent.

If the Bills are looking at Clausen at 9 this just helped them out.

Trading an old QB within your own division to a team that doesn't have the NFL contender thing figured out is a move that rings familiar to me.

Oh yeah, remember Bledsoe to the Bills? This won't work out too well for the Skins, but then again nothing ever does...kind of like the Bills.

Report is a 2nd this year and a 3rd or 4th next year, depending on conditions.

yeah they got the Skins' 37th overall pick and a 3rd or 4th next year.

Andy Reid must be confident Mcnabb's best days are behind him to deal him within the division.

I find it hard to believe that the Bills could not/would not give up a second this year and a 3 or 4 next year for this guy. Really? Like him or not (I don't really) he pulls you into the hunt for the division immediately given the rest of our roster.
Doesn't it make sense that the Eagles might have taken a bit less to send him to the AFC? Draft picks are such a crap shoot.

Good lord. To a division rival. Philly must really think McNabb is done.

Philly gets a high #2 with a conditional second pick in next years draft. The Eagles are apparently willing to deal with any repurcussions stemming from this trade, unloading him to the highest bidder that McNabb was willing to go to (i'm speculating). Kinda reminds me of how Bledsoe came here. Reid, like Belichick, is betting he'll be able to neutralize McNabb for a few years.

I think this is a win/win for everyone involved. And a win for the Bills as well ;)

I think that Nix and Gailey are committed to rebuilding and a rebuilding team doesn't trade for a veteran pro bowl QB, that's what a team who is in a transition period would do

Welcome to Buffalo Jimmy Clausen

I have faith Nix will pick the highest rated player who also happens to fill a need...which is multiple positions for the Bills.

That's why I doubt it's Clausen.

At least then we could forget about this Clausen stuff!

I would love to add a young vet QB who throws for over 3000 yds.

For the Bills, it would have had to be a 2nd and 4th this year, and a 2nd or 3rd next year. And since McNabb has 1-year left on his contract at $11.2M and wants an extension, that was NEVER happening. It's an even dumber trade for the Skins if there's a lockout next year.

For one, if we offered Philly the same deal, Washington's offer is better since they draft in front of us.

Secondly, why would we waste a couple of picks on an aging veteran when we are trying to rebuild? We aren't sniffing the playoffs this year regardless.

Third, McNabb would not put us in the hunt immediately. Sorry.

Jason Campbell sucks, thus the reason for Shanahan bringing in the most overrated player in the NFL.
Be glad the Bills didn't trade for McNabb and you all better hope they don't get stupid and go after Campbell.

So... does Campbell get released? Stay behind to develop under a similar quarterback? No ones gonna toss the 1st round tender at the Skins...

Campbell - 3618 YDS 20 TDs 15 INTs

Buffalo Bills - 2737 YDS 15 TDs 19 INTs

I'll take Campbell over our QBs any day of the week. And he is still young.

Well, if Mike Shanahan was willing to deal a high 2nd round pick for a 35-year old McNabb, who was traded by a division rival, it should tell you what you need to know about Campbell.

Why do people not like Campbell? If your options were Edwards, Ftizpatirck, or Campbell, which would you honestly prefer. Yes Campbell is not a superstar QB, but Buffalo isn't getting a superstar QB. Campbell is better than anything we have now.

While I'd much rather have Bradford or Clausen, Campbell is better than anything we currently have on the roster.

I can't believe how much the Eagles and their fans have crapped on McNabb....right from the draft when the fans booed the choice because they wanted Mr. Puff Williams instead....I'm rooting for McNabb to kick the Eagles asses when he faces them.

I'm curious to see how this season plays-out. I think neither the Eagles nor Redskins will make the playoffs.
