No thanks. The ONLY hope we would have for Campbell to have some success is to have a guy like Lee and at least one more good receiver on the field.
Now if you wanna talk Lynch for Campbell, I am all ears.

   Are you ****ing high or something? Campbell is an RFA and no one has even sniffed him for a 1st round tender. I guarantee that they are willing to take whatever they can get for him. We could probably get him right now for a 5th round pick or later. And I would do that. If not, I wouldn't be surprised if they remove the tender and let him become a UFA.

Lee Evans is the only decent WR on the roster right now.

If we traded him for Campbell, we'd have a QB with no OL and ZERO talent at WR.

Yeah, there's a recipe for success

God no. We would have a mediocre QB with no receivers.

I don't even think Washington would take that trade.

Lee Evans is nowhere near as good as some people make him out to be on this board.

Stewie

I'd make the trade and here's why. I'm assuming the goal is to win the superbowl within 3-4 years.

Lee is a one trick pony, as far as I'm concerned. It's a good trick, but it's one that declines with age for even the best athletes. He is not a legit #1, and when he's consistently doubled he gets shut down.

Campbell is a serviceable QB. He isn't flashy, but he isn't terrible, and he hasn't exactly had the most stable situation in his career. He plays best when his running game is rolling.

They are the same age. Campbell could play another 7 or 8 years. Lee isn't going to be productive for that long.

In the short term, Lee could have a couple explosive years with McNabb throwing to him. He isn't going to put those numbers up for us with a rookie QB. And by the time a rookie is 3 years in, Lee is 32 years old and still tryin to outrun 22 year olds.

If we have Campbell at QB, it lets us select a QB later in the draft that can use some bench time. And we can go BPA at 9, pick up an OT or Dez, and a FA or rookie WR in the later rounds.

Lee is a one trick pony, as far as I'm concerned. . Is Campbell any sort of a trick pony?

It's a good trick, but it's one that declines with age for even the best athletes. He is not a legit #1, and when he's consistently doubled he gets shut down. .
And Campbell doesn't get shut down with crappy OL?

and he hasn't exactly had the most stable situation in his career . And Lee has?

He plays best when his running game is rolling. . And Lee has had a great season when he's had a qb that can get him the ball.

If we have Campbell at QB, it lets us select a QB later in the draft that can use some bench time. And we can go BPA at 9, pick up an OT or Dez, and a FA or rookie WR in the later rounds.

Who are they going to throw to? Trade a player thats proven to be able to catch for 1300 yards and draft a rookie who supposedly has attitude problems?

Getting rid of our best player for someone who hasn't even proven to be decent consistently?

Crazy talk.

I don't think Lee Evans is our best player. I think he's a talented but aging WR on a bad team. Which makes him perfect trade bait.

I think I'm on to the right track, but according to all you armchair GM's maybe I need to toss in a low round pick with Campbell to equalize the deal.

"ESPN 980 in Washington reports there are five teams already interested (http://twitter.com/ESPNRadio980/status/11640261100): Buffalo, Carolina, Oakland, Jacksonville & an unknown team."

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/04/05/report-five-teams-interested-in-jason-campbell/

And I'd be willing to bet zone bucks or real bucks that if Campbell is given a chance to start with his next team, he has more "productive years" than Evans, as much as you can compare the two positions.

Lee Evans is nowhere near as good as some people make him out to be on this board.

Whether or not Evans is as good as most people on here think, he's still worth a lot more than Campbell is now.

Why do you have to trade Lee Evans to get Campbell? Bring in Campbell and take away his only proven weapon? Might as well go back to dinking and dunking.

If Campbell can be had for a 3rd, Lee is worth more than a 3rd.

but.......

we need him

jason campbell is heading str8 for a lifetime of clipboards in this league

Not that I think that much about Evans, he's worth more than Campbell right now.

So the trade doesnt make sense. Now if it were Campbell and Thomas for Evans Id had pause for far longer before making a decision.

I firmly believe Jason Campbell has a more productive career ahead of him than Lee Evans.

We'll find out.
