this points that maybe clausen, or possibly Spiller or Bryant

Absolutely zero chance of Clausen at 4...it's all positioning by Shanahan...

Shanahan is being smart and adding value to his pick.

Looking to trade back.

Cue the "Buffalo interested in moving up to Washington's spot" inside info...

Not a chance. They would basically have spent both of their top picks on QB's. Even if they signed Adams, it's not like that fixes everything. They need a young starter at LT, not an aging penalty machine.

The only way Clausen would be picked at #4 would be for some team to trade there.

NOT THE DUDE...

even if they sign adams, theres no way in hell they pass up on a stud lt...

Washington will trade down in 1st so they can stilldraft a top 4 LT or Dez

I wouldn't be comletely shocked if Clausen goes at 4, but I also wouldn't be shocked if he goes at 30. I know I'm a little against the grain here and I've stated my thoughts on his game in other threads, but I still think he's a 20-30 pick and not a top 10. Again, just my own evaluation and opinion.

When has a team ever publicly ruled out taking a player at a particular position, especially in the top ten in the draft? It is in Shanahan's best interest to keep all his options open, at least in his public dealings.
