The Sabres are getting healthy at the right time,
Thomas Vanek skated with the team today and Rivet is feeling better after battling the Flu.
"I have seen improvement every day this week. The first couple of days I was sore the next day. Right now it's about getting my legs back under me and felt real good the past few days. My condition is pretty good, but these two games will help me get back into the flow of the game, you can't practice that."
"It's been a rough year obviously, but the good part is we're in the post season and you can make a lot of good in there so that's what I'm looking forward to. The injury was frustrating, but at the same time I worked on my shooting, getting my hands better, get better timing and so I can contribute a lot more than I have been."
Lindy Ruff said Craig Rivet has regained his strength and is likely to return tomorrow.
with Vanek and Rivet healthy the Sabres sent Mark Mancari back down to their farm team in Portland, Maine the Portland Pirates.
Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff also says that Patrick Kaleta is ahead of schedule
"He's actually doing pretty good. It's probably a situation where you could think about playing him. It's something we've discussed and it's something we'll discuss more today."
The Sabres are still chasing NJ and Pitt for the second seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. NJ and Pitt both have 99pts. and the Sabres are 1pt behind with 98pts. The Sabres close out the regular season on Sun. against the Devils at the Prudential Center.
