"Pro Bowl running back" on the trading block

Posted by Mike Florio on April 10, 2010 3:44 PM ET
Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reports that an unnamed (for now) Pro Bowl running back is on the trading block.

Robinson (via Twitter) says that knows the name of the tailback and the teams involved. He says he'll reveal the player soon, that it won't be shocking, and that it's not Cowboys tailback Marion Barber.

In 2009, the Pro Bowl running backs were Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, DeAngelo Williams, and Frank Gore.

In 2008, they were Thomas Jones, Johnson, Ronnie Brown, Marshawn Lynch, Peterson, Clinton Portis, and Michael Turner.

In 2007, they were LaDainian Tomlinson, Joseph Addai, Fred Taylor, Willie Parker,Willis McGahee, Peterson, Barber, and Brian Westbrook.

We're guessing that it's Lynch, and possibly McGahee.

I highly doubt it's McGahee....I just wonder who the team involved in Lynch trade talks is

I love this. This is a deep draft and we need a lot of players, so more picks can't hurt. The problem is I can't see a team giving up anything better than a 4th for Lynch.

Can you see anyone giving up more than a 4th for Merriman?? How about Lynch and a 5th along with a conditional 3rd in 2011 for Marcus McNeil??

Ask for a 3rd in 2011 and use it for ammunition to move up in the 2011 draft and grab Jake Locker...

I'd be more then willing to see us use our 2012 1st rd pick with our 2011 1st rd pick and whatever sprinkled in picks we need ot move up and selct the best QB in the 2011 draft which should be a deeper and better overall draft for QB's.

If the Bills draft heavily on the OL / DL and LB's this draft and do not take a QB then I will assume this is the direction we are heading... which is what I am hoping for.

Madden.
It sounds Maddenish...but those trades, at least something along those lines are 100% realistic

Why would the Chargers trade Mcniel? Rb's are a dime a dozen, LT's arent. Merriman for Lynch straight up is still out there but it more plausable.

There have been McNeil rumors out there recently, specifically to the Colts. As to why they would trade him, I have no clue.

I'd love more picks this year, but we might be best off getting a conditional 2011 pick for Lynch. I have a feeling that if he gets traded, he'll end up doing well in 2010.

I dont like the idea of trading Lynch, but if they can get something decent back for him, I'll be fine. The Bills will have to draft someone to replace him.

The Legarrette Blount era begins!!!!

Yea in your dreams.
If we put our best foot forward it is not a dream...the Chargers want to be able to draft a NT in round 1 and not an RB....with all of the tackles in this draft, if they grade them highly, trading McNeil wouldn't be too bad, that way they can fill all the positions of need with top level talent

I would bet it is McGahee. His salary will jump from about $600,000 to $3.6 Million next year. A $3 Million dollar raise in pay is a good reason to trade him.

Whether Charles Robinson "reveals" Lynch or not, Im confident he's getting traded anyway.
