With Boston winning today they secured a playoff spot. They are currently in sixth place with Montreal playing Toronto for their final game of the season.
A Montreal loss would guarantee the Sabres a matchup with the bruins and I think that's the most desirable outcome.
To go a little further...If Montreal loses today and then the New York rangers win in overtime or a shootout tomorrow, then Montreal is completely bounced from the playoffs and both Philly and the Rangers would sneak in on the last day of the season. Wouldn't that be somethin' huh?? It's gonna be a good weekend of hockey.
