Last day, last game...who do you want to win? Do you want the Sabres to get the number 2 spot? If they finish 3rd then they play Boston in Rd. 1. If they finish 2nd they will probably play the Phil/NYR winner.

What do you want?

They won't play the Rangers. If the Rangers win, I think Montreal gets the 7th seed.

I do not want them to play Boston.

And the Sabres need to win in regulation.

I'd take NYR, Philly or Montreal over Boston right now, so I think the Sabres should give it their all to win.

The big question - do you play Miller?

The big question - do you play Miller?

Good question- when is the first playoff game? How much rest would Miller have?

Honestly, I think it depends on whether or not Lindy considers 2nd to be all that much better than 3rd. If they play Brodeur, playing Miller is our only chance to win, so if Ruff values the win, play Miller.

if we win in regulation/philly wins, we get philly

if we lose/win in OT, we get boston no matter what

if we win in regulation/nyr wins, we get mtl

do i have that right?

GO Sabres...but only if the Flyers win. I don't want to face Montreal in the 1st round. :ill:

I just want everybody to be healthy going into the playoffs. Seeding means absolutely nothing in hockey.

If we lose we play Boston.
If we win and the Rangers win, we play Montreal.
If we win and Philly wins, we play Philly.

the playoffs are a whole new dog...you can never predict what teams will do....it is not inconceivable that the Caps will lose in the first round...personally, I wouldn't be shocked if the Caps, Devils and Sabres were all to lose in the first round. Even Ottawa could give Pittsburgh a run.

Personally, I think folks are missing one detail. If the Sabres lose then Pitts gets 4th place and has to play Ottawa. I'm fine with that. Start Lalime and just don't get hurt.

Kaleta is playing. Lalime is in net.

That's wrong, Eb. New Jersey won yesterday and already clinched the division. Pittsburgh has the #4 and Ottawa has the #5 seed no matter what.

That's why seeding is unimportant.

Referee's put away the whistle in this one until the final 5 minutes.

Yeah that was a bit ridiculous in the end. Why didn't Ruff pull Lalime on our 2nd last rush when there was 27 seconds left? He pulls him with 6 seconds to go? :wtf:

SabreEleven

Why did Grier pass that puck all the way back to his own zone when he needed a goal? that was just stupid.

i know if NJ went to OT/SO they would be #2, but why take a loss?

Are you really a hockey guru that you claim you are? It was a out right win or nothing.

why the **** did we pull the goalie?

We had to win in regulation to get the 2nd seed, giving us home-ice advantage for the second round.

Those two calls at the end sucked. Even if they were penalties, then they should have given a penalty to the NJ guy who pulled Myers away from the puck when the puck went deep into our zone.

Lalime played decent too.

There was a ton of calls that weren't called through out the game. it looked the refs were practicing for the playoffs.

we wont make it to the 2nd round anyway, boston has our number.

Because if NJ gets 1 point, they get the 2nd seed. So what was the point of taking it to OT/SO? There wasn't one.

Ruff pulled the goalie to better their chances of winning in regulation. It's a simple concept.

Wow...all the negativity around here is disgusting! I'm sorry, but while everyone else is considering this team one and done, I'm not afraid of Boston. I'm actually relieved that it's not Montreal, they have a much better team.
