I listen to WGR and they mention he is injured but no mention of what the injury is or how long he is out.

Why so secretive with this guy.

Connolly nut up and get out there for christ sake.

He has a broken foot. Not exactly something he can play with.

Oh he does. I hadn't heard exactly what the injury was. Where any time tables given?

What type of break?

Many breaks can be played with.

They estimated him and Vanek both back for the playoffs, given this is Timmy, he's not known to come back from injuries within estimated time tables.

What type of break?

The kind where one bone gets split into two?

Maybe if it wasn't a bone that he has to stand on for 20 minutes a game he'd play with it.

I'm not a doctor, but I'm sure that a broken bone in your foot isn't too pleasant to shove into a shoe/skate.

last thing we need is to cause long term damage to timmy's foot,

i believe he broke a bone in the side blocking a shot, might have to go back through my emails to confirm.

in which case, its not possible to skate on it.

at least the replacements are stepping up and playing well.

Timmy is still the glass joe out there even though he finally played the majority of a season. I hope he's close.

There's good news on the injury front for the Buffalo Sabres heading into Thursday's opener of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Coach Lindy Ruff said today he's "optimistic" that center Tim Connolly will be ready for Game One against the Boston Bruins after the center skated on his own over the weekend for the first time since he was injured late last month. And Ruff is not ruling out Jochen Hecht or Drew Stafford either.
