APPLETON - The fourth annual Brett Favre Celebrity Softball game had to do its best to peak through the heavy clouds and downpours of rain that covered Fox Cities Stadium Sunday afternoon, and with a little humor from what could have been viewed as an off-shoot of a "Little Rascals" episode, the event was once again a success.

In front of an overflow crowd, Favre and company displayed the game of softball, an artistic nightmare, tackling and jostling, bouts with shaving cream - and, oh yeah, about the game - a few moonballs by Packers third-year wide receiver Robert Ferguson got some cheers. And yes, the offense pulled it out 24-10 in a tightly contested, well-pitched game.

The event, which benefits the Brett Favre Foundation, gives Packer players, past and present, and local media personalities a chance to give back. Proceeds from the game are given to Favre's foundation, which grants aid to disadvantaged or disabled children living in Wisconsin.

"We always know Brett is going to be working for his foundation," fullback William Henderson said. "It's a chance for us to come out and help him support it.

"He really didn't have to ask us to come out here and do a thing. He knew we were going to come and help out." MORE (http://www.greenbaynewschron.com/packers/page.html?article=120385)
