Critics might say it was only one practice.
But practice or not, it was hard to ignore.
There was Deltha O'Neal jumping a route and taking the interception back the other way for six points.
Then he did it again, scoring a rare pick off veteran Steve Beuerlein.
After that, it was Kelly Herndon's turn.
He stripped the ball away from Frank Rice on one play, went up and over Cecil Sapp to force another incompletion and turned even more heads by darting in front of veteran wide receiver Rod Smith, tipping the ball, then corralling the rebound for an interception.
"We tried to make a statement," O'Neal said of the fast-and-furious effort by the Denver Broncos secondary during mini-camp the past six days.
Of course, O'Neal knows the critics won't be silenced until this group proves it on the field this fall.
