The Steelers' defense could have a decidedly different look this season on passing downs, and not a minute too soon.
Trying to reverse a slump that had the team's pass defense ranked 20th in the NFL, coach Bill Cowher and defensive coordinator Tim Lewis are installing new-look dime and nickel defenses. The highlight of those alignments will be keeping inside linebackers Kendrell Bell and James Farrior, and nose tackle Casey Hampton on the field at all times.
"We want to find a way to get them involved, instead of standing on the sideline next to coach," Lewis said
