    Maybe T.O. should ditch Twitter

After trading Santonio Holmes this past week on the heels of getting fed up with multiple off field issues, the Pittsburgh Steelers very likely are looking to fill a hole at the wide receiver position. Given that he’s currently unemployed, Terrell Owens seemed to be a potential match after the NFL draft next week if the Steelers fail to land an adequate player to replace Holmes.

That’s pretty much out the window now.

Rarely one to mince his feelings, Owens took to his twitter Friday morning to publicly question the Steelers organization, namely comparing Holmes to recently embattled quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

“Interesting…Y wn’t steelers trade Roesthlisberger but cn trade S. Holmes? He’s been n more trouble than Holmes? Hmmm…??? Just a thought.”

For starters he’s wrong. Dan Rooney made it quite clear yesterday that while they haven’t discussed trading Roethlisberger to any other teams yet, they have had internal discussions and in no way, shape or form did he rule out dealing the troubled two-time Super Bowl winner.

Perhaps more importantly for his career, this may not be the ideal time for Owens to play the role of league activist. Since the Buffalo Bills announced they wouldn’t be bringing Owens back for 2010, Owens’ phone hasn’t exactly rung off the hook with job offers since free agency started in early March.

He’s had all of one official free agent visit, to Cincinnati and the team decided to sign “troubled” receiver Antonio Bryant instead.

There are few teams in need of his services and certainly none in the $5-million per season range his agent, Drew Rosenhaus is expecting.

So at least for the time being, he may be wise to leave the complaining to the media and fans.

He would still be our best WR so the Bills should offer him 3 million and re-sign him.

the guy is ALWAYS flapping his lips about something. if there's anything he needs to talk about, it should be asking for advice how to not drop footballs.

I don't understand why the Bills wouldn't offer him another year. Maybe he was a bigger distraction in the locker room and off the field than we thought?

Jordan in his prime on the New Jersey Nets would still be a sub .500 team. Who cares if we have TO. This season will be a wash anyway.

Probably because they're rebuilding and it's more worthwhile to give young players playing time to try and develop a starter.

It's a race issue. I heard about it yesterday on a podcast and everyone will definitely hear more about it in the near future. Guarantee it.
