What do we do? Not likely, but possible.

Probably the position of least need, with probably the player with the best chance to be a pure impact player.... interesting dilemma?

I think you trade down at that point.... I just dont see ANY player at 9 that the Bills just cant pass on. Someone will jump at the opportunity to get him if he is sitting there.

If you take a safety at 9, he better make the Pro Bowl at least 3-5 times.

Definitely trade down. He's going to be a great player, but the Bills' secondary is set and the rest of the team has holes everywhere.

I would definitely trade down if we have the option. This draft has a lot of talent and they're going to be a lot of really good players in the 2nd and 3rd round. Unless there's a big surprise and someone really significant falls to us at 9, my hope is that we make trading down a first priority.

Id try and trade down but if you can't I take him and ship Donte's stupid ass of somewhere.

I think Berry will do that.

By far the best available player, so I would take offers until time almost expires, and if a deal doesnt get made, you have to take him

We have Byrd, Wilson, Scott, and Whitner.

No.

I guess if we're all high on drafting Spiller, -why not go after Berry too? It doesnt fill a need, but if we're talking rb... why not db?

We have Byrd, Wilson, Scott, and Whitner.

No.

Based on this, the answer is yes.

Byrd = great younger player.

Wilson= Special Teamer, can't hit, average safety.

Scott = Slow and can't cover.

Whitener = not bad, not great.

Out of these 4 - Byrd is the only untouchable. Think how great a safety combo Byrd and Berry would be?

I could care less if he is on the board at #9...there will still be plenty of talent available and other positions that would make sense. If this happens, I'm not even thinking about Berry.

we would trade back if there wasn't a OL or DL we covet sitting there IMO

ProFootballTalk is reporting the Eagles would like to trade up for one of the two best safetys.

I think I'd still rather trade down, but if we could trade Whitner and get decent value for him like a 2nd or 3rd, or a vet player that fills a need, then I'd be much more open to picking Berry at 9. Of the guys we've discussed a lot, Clausen, Spiller, Williams, Bryant...Berry is the only guy that I would feel like we are definitely getting a truly great player. He seems like the kind of guy that 5 years from now people are going to say "Wow, I can't believe we had a chance to draft this guy and passed on him."

I think with an extra 2nd or 3rd, we would still have a great chance of significantly upgrading at OT, DL, and LB.

He is a top 5 talent in this draft and maybe top 3 in some of our books.

Of course you take him if he is there.......

If they take a safety at #9 I'm done, and they can stick their season tixs up their ***.

If he makes it to 9 (highly unlikely), he is easily the best player available by a wide, wide, wide margin. I'm sick of the Bills drafting project after project. This is an absolute home run. There is no miss with Berry, only a hit. A big hit. Take him.

He might be that good but I rather go for the best pass rusher this year if the best OT and the best DT are gone. A safety at this time seems like a luxury pick.

You can make the argument that several teams would be falling all over themselves to trade into Buffalo's spot IF Eric Berry is available. Can anyone here say bidding war?!?! The Giants, Eagles, Packers, Broncos etal are in need of a safety of this caliber, so make them spend dearly. It's nice to be in the drivers seat for a change!!!

No, you don't. Talk about a luxury pick that makes zero sense...this would be that.

Brandon Marshall, Santonio Holmes, Randy Moss.

Berry would be a great pick at 9.

I would trade out, and if this were to happen could almost guarantee at least one team would be willing to pay dearly to move up a snag him. If not, draft him. I'd much rather go Berry, LT, NT in the first three rounds than Clausen (or any other QB), LT, NT.

If Eric Berry is there at 9 you draft him.
Luxury or not you pick the best player and thats how drafts work.
The Bills don't need him but you can always use pro bowl caliber players on your defense...
Eric Berry is that good..

To be honest this is a waste of time anyway Eric Berry will be gone before the bills draft anyway....

Id try and trade down but if you can't I take him and ship Donte's stupid ass of somewhere.

Thats my take too.

I think Berry may be the best Safety to come out in the past 5 years at least. He could easily be a perennial pro-bowler IMO.

Id have no issue with trading Donte and taking him. But I think the best move would be to trade down.

Anyways, I think its highly unlikely that he will drop to 9.

It really depends on who else is still available.

If Berry is there, I shop the pick and see if anyone is willing to wow me with an offer. If not, then I draft him and ship Donte Whitner out of Buffalo for a late round pick or a bag of footballs.
