Never heard of him, was apparently on the Lions:
Bills signed TE Michael Matthews, formerly of the Lions.
Matthews, listed at 6'4/270, will try to make the Bills as a strict blocking tight end. He has eight catches in 36 career games.

We need a blocking TE badly. Good move.

true, Nelson and Schou are certainly known more for their receiving abilities.

It's always interesting to see the kind of responses you'll see when we sign a guy who is destined to either 1) get cut, 2) hit the practice squad, or 3) make the roster and be involved in six plays all season.

The Pats traded a conditional pick to the Giants last year and brought him to camp. He ended up getting cut, so they never had to give up the pick.
He is strictly a blocker/3rd TE type.

Nothing big here, roster filler for now.I bet we bring in one or two more blocking TE's types.

guys like this are useless. if i want a blocking TE for certain situations, i'll send in an OL to report as eligible. that's all this guy amounts to. he'd be a waste of roster space.
Stupar will kill this guy.

Stupar is not much of a blocker.

i guess we'll have him take over the LT position, watch him have a fabulous year, give him a nice contract for a job well done, and then trade him for a 1st to get the LT circle to revolve all over again.
