Billsdaily is reporting that the Bills added O'Neill Gilbert to help coach the DL. He was in the clubs Minority Fellowship program and worked with GW in Tennessee. I no nothing about the guy but it would make sense that this guy is gonna take Levra's spot once he retires after the season.

Levra's been very good as a DL coach I think, so he'd probably be one of the best in the league to apprentice under. Good move as long as he doesn't get in Levra's way.

Checked this out, from the 2/6/00 Nashville Tennessean (note: Gilbert was fired by the Titans 2/10/00, went to U of Cinn as DL coach but was not offered a renewal for the 2002 season).

Most disappointing assistant

Linebacker coach O'Neill Gilbert didn't seem to have his group in sync with what the defensive line did in front of it.
He does not appear to have the same grip on his group as most of the other position coaches do.

OK -- if GW really was in charge as DC for the Titans in 2000, why would he fire this guy for incompetence then hire him in Buffalo??

Makes me suspect the rumors are true -- that by 2000, GW was already on the "outs" in Tennessee and had little say in decisions.

Wow, that sounds eerily like our O-line coach. Nothing like another newbie jumping aboard. Buffalo Bills..farm club for wannabe newbie coaches..woohoo!!

Yeah, but we didn't let him coach for us until he was 60 years old or so and had about 40 years coaching experience under his belt. :D
