    I hate Clausen.. but

    The Bills absolutely should-- and probably will make a play for him.

    If no one else leaps up in front of Buffalo, the Bills will have to move up to #37 (Philly) to get him.

    That's what Im hearing.


    Also a Spiller note: a reporter who was at OBD last night and has a real tight Bills connection, told me that Buddy Nix had CJ Spiller third OVERALL on his big board going into the draft, after Suh and Trent Williams.

    In other words: He was higher rated by the Bills than Bradford, Berry, McCoy (Gerald) and Okung.

        I think I like the pick. We need superstars on offense, and hopefully he's the first.

        It (and your info on the Bills draft board) also probably indicates that we really have no idea what they're going to do next. To me Spiller seems like proof that Nix is really drafting on a 2-3 year plan, and is a lot more concerned with adding top talent wherever he can find it than filling THIS year's needs.

          Absolutely.. Nix could give a **** less what position they play.

          Three years from now nobody will care if it was a "need" on April 22-24, 2010.. What will matter is if they are GOOD

            Plus he might be a little pissed off after being passed over last night.

                Sounds about right, in which case we better damn well pray the BPA at 41 is a T or OLB..

                  I can live without a QB in this draft.

                  We have brohm who is essentially a rookie that we can battle test this year. if he fails with little to no hope, we're picking early next year. if not, we have our QB already on our roster. we have trent to backup which is probably what he is designed to handle. through college he's never handled a full load without getting hurt.

                  get to the lines if those are the best player available on either side of the ball.

                      I'd rather go with Clausen than an OLB here. OLB is a need, but not a pressing need. We have guys that can and will play at OLB and rush linebacker. It has to be an OT or a QB here at 41.

                          Ok think this through guys. If this guy is sliding because of non physical things a QB needs, namely brains and attitude, does he suddenly pick them up the more he drops? I am not at all surprised this guy has dropped like a stone. Keep repeating this to yourselves until it sinks in: McCoy is a leader, Clausen is JP II.

                            I seem to remember in that draft that the Bills were going to take Ben with their first pick until Pittsburgh stepped in.
