View Full Version : Pete Carroll "really likes Lynch"

Here's hoping....

According to Yahoo's Charles Robinson, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll "really likes" Marshawn Lynch.
Robinson has been on the Lynch trade trail for months, so we'd tend to trust him here. Robinson even isn't ruling out the Seahawks sending the No. 60 overall pick to Buffalo for Lynch, with the Bills apparently still holding out for a second-rounder. That seems like quite a bit to pay a player who's fallen off so dramatically of late, but Lynch would definitely be an upgrade.

Good, because I'd "really like" to trade him for the #60 spot, before he gets "really suspended" for "hijacking cars."

Pete Carrol would know about Lynch. USC played them every year so he probably watched a lot of game film on him over the years Lynch was at Cal.

I'd take any pick for Lynch now. I'll let Nix work this out.

honestly, if the seahawks give us the 60th pick, i think it's hard not to laugh as you say ok. That's pretty pricey for a guy who will definitely complete the felony/misdemeanor hat-trick.

this would be a s good as it could get for Lynch.

Hopefully there is truth here.

Didn't Seattle give up at least a third or so for Charlie Whitehurst? It's very possible. But as ptd said, I don't expect more than a 4th and even that I'd be happy with.

Pull the trigger, even for a third.

Exactly...get another 3rd and then you have ammunition to move back into the 2nd for a player you like. I hope they aren't too stubborn about getting a 2nd...the iron is hot with Seattle...get a deal done.

Package Lynch with Whitner for the Seahawks 2nd rounder.

Why not just keep Whitner? You want to just give everyone away all the time. Lynch of course he is a cancer and has 1 strike left. Whitner, while not nearly worth his draft position is a competant player and a good locker room guy.

They might have given up next year's 3rd.

If they really are interested make it Lynch and a 4th for their 2nd.

that would be cool.

Rumor has it the Bills have contacted the Rams about the 33rd pick.

I'd love it if somehow the Bills got the 33rd pick and drafted Clausen, traded Lynch and Whitner to Seattle for their 2nd rounder and drafted Saffold.

That Whitehurst trade was one of the dumbest trades I've ever seen in my life.

If Carroll sent over a 3rd for Lynch, I would be happy.

A 2nd? I would laugh my ass off.

Because the Bills secondary is better without him?

I only want to get rid of the bums, Whitner, Lynch and Schobel. Schobel time has passed. They should have traded him 2 years ago when the Redskins wanted him.

They would have to in order to trade up and grab a QB, which I think they really need to consider right now.

If we got their third I would book Lynch's ticket to SEA.

If we could come out with a def. upgrade at RB, clausen, b campbell and a NT like C Thomas. I would call this draft a success

Buddy, pull he trigger and unload him already. To be honest, I never really understood why everybody thought Lynch was so great to begin with. And that was before all the off the field nonsense. I won't be sad to see him go.

Yeah, Seattle didn't actually trade a 2010 third rounder for Whitehurst, my mistake:

Seahawks acquired QB Charlie Whitehurst from the Chargers in exchange for a swap of 2010 second-round picks and a third-round pick in 2011.
The move will pay off for Seattle if Whitehurst becomes Matt Hasselbeck's eventual successor, but the Bolts got quite a haul. They move up 20 spots in round two and get a premium 2011 pick for a player with zero pass attempts in four seasons, who couldn't beat out Billy Volek. Whitehurst, 27, posted an underwhelming 49:46 TD-to-INT ratio and 59.7 completion rate as a four-year starter at Clemson in the early- to mid-2000s. He has ideal size (6'4/227), good tools and athleticism, and outplayed Jay Cutler at the 2006 Senior Bowl. Pete Carroll and GM John Schneider have been watching a lot of old tape.

However, swapping 2nds is probably worth a 3rd, and a 3rd next year? That's a hefty price to give up for someone who has, I believe, zero total pass attempts in the regular season, and has never been more than a third-stringer.

If that's what the going rate is, then they should be offering us their 2011 first round pick for Lynch. :snicker:

I was asking a question with my first post because I wasn't sure. The one you just quoted is the details from rotoworld.com.

However, Seattle doesn't have a 3rd round pick because they traded it away during last year's draft.

So they currently have pick 60 and their next pick is #104. Happy now?

My bad.

The #60 pick would be great. #140 would be acceptable for Lynch, I guess, but I wouldn't be thrilled.

Just swap their 2nd and our third. then swap our fourths or a late round pick for Lynch. I would take having two seconds. Thats an offensive and defensive lineman.

Seattle switched 2nds with SD and gave SD next year's third. They still have this year's third.

They traded it away in last year's draft to get Deon Butler.

Seattles 2nd is #60, our 3rd is #73 or something around there. I'm all for trading Byemode but not for 13 spots in rd 3. Seattle has no 3rds and 2 4ths. I'd propose Seattle's #60 and one of those 4ths for Marshawn our 3rd and a 7th, if somebody we love is there at #60.

At this point I would take a Steve Largent autographed football for Lynch, but wasn't Carroll interested in Reggie Bush?
