Leon Washington is headed to the Seahawks in exchange for a fifth-round pick. The Jets selected Kentucky running back John Connor with the pick, and also sent a seventh-round pick to the Seahawks in the deal.

i have mixed feelings.... i reallly really like leon as a player.... he was our version of freddy jackson.....Originally posted by The last buffalo fan
however i understand the trade for 3 reasons:
1. the pick up of LT and the annointing of shonn greene, as well as the release of thomas jones (which im not that fond of btw)
2. his broken leg last year now makes him an injury liability
3. from what i've seen in jets insider sites, washington despite the injury wanted a long term deal (hence him holding out before signing his RFA tender)

I know it is just business, but as a Bills fan I it wasn't nice facing this guy twice every season, even now that on paper our Rdefense is getting better. Still you have a great running backs corps there.The Mexican & too!!
