5 things that i can't wrap my head around
- The Sabres have trailed for less then 20 minutes of nearly 330 minutes of hockey
- The Sabres have scored 1st in every game
- The Sabres WERE 31-0 when taking a lead into the 3rd period. They had the lead going into the 3rd in 4 of 5 games, and only won 2.
- The best goalie in the game has given up TWO critical 3rd period softies, yet has made numerous epic saves.
- The 30th ranked offense has battled back offensively in every game but one.

2, maybe 3 of those things happening in a series... maybe i can grasp that... but all of them??? what is this the perfect ****ing storm?

score that first goal and amp up the energy and i think game 6 is for the taking. if they come out flat like they did for the first two minutes, that'll be the season.

They need 5 great first minutes and get a goal.

Scoring the first goal isn't necessarily the key seeing that they have scored first in every game, but it would probably help suck the life out of the Boston crowd a little bit.

It's much more soul-crushing to lose game 7 at home anyway.

If we make it to game 7, we won't lose. Not here.

Let's try and play 60 full minutes and see what happens.

i realize we have scored the first goal in every game, but i think in this game specifically, if we score the first goal, i think boston as a team thinks, "oh my god, this could happen. we could squander this." And then the pressure goes squarely to their shoulders.

Add in the fact that they have a hard time scoring and maybe mix in miller on the top of his game and the sabres essentially trapping them to death with clears and not letting them set up....the pressure cooker will continue to build.

We need to build up a nice 3 goal lead and make sure our D-men get in the lanes and block those shots and take their men off the puck.

i'm getting into the mindframe that we'll know if we win by the end of the first. the game 5 team we saw, played really well with a couple lapses, but miller was there to take care of that.

I think they know that they have to replicate that game, and with an extra day off, i think they are ready to make that statement. if vanek plays and scores a goal, you're going to see one confident sabres team.
