    Kelsay, Denney, Schobel...

With the signing/drafting of prototypical 3-4 front 7 guys (Carrington, Troup, Dwan Edwards), what the heck are we gonna do with these guys we currently have? Specifically at the DE position, I feel like both Kelsay and Denney are pretty solid cut candidates, especially considering the fact that I think that Kelsay is being paid a pretty good chunk of change.

I mean, these guys arent big enough to play a 3-4 end are they? Schobel may be able to stand up and rush off the edge as a OLB but I dont see Kelsay and Denney being able to do that very well...

thoughts on what we're going to do with these guys?

    Denney is gone.

Kelsay will have to compete for a roster spot just like everyone else.

There's no other choice but to dump them. Same way the last regime dumped Mike Williams and took the $$$ hit.

Denney is gone already. Neither Schobel nor Kelsay are near big enough to play 3-4 DE. If they are on the roster come September, they'll both be OLB's.

OLB or cut. There's no way any of them can play DE in a 3-4.

We've got the same problem with a lot of the linebackers on the team.

The transition to a 3-4 D won't be easy or immediate, and that's a huge reason why we drafted defense so heavily this year. It was a smart move. Let's just hope they were smart picks.

Denney is already gone- his contract expired and he was not re-signed.

Kelsay and Schobel- one of them will probably make the team as OLB just because of the numbers game. The other one will be cut.

I'm kind of hoping Schobel retires and I really hope Kelsay gets cut.

Play scheme's that fit your players, don't pick players to play a scheme.

Because if a player is better at doing something else than that's what he should be doing.

You don't see Peyton Manning only throwing the ball 15 times a game.

This is how I see our starting Defense as of today

                              DE Dwan Edwards.....Spencer Johnson
                              DT Kyle Williams......Troup
                              DE Marcus Stroud.........CArrington

                              ILB POZ......
                              ILB Davis......
                              OLB Mitchell.........Mitchell
                              OLB Maybin..........Harris

                              CB McKelvin
                              CB McGhee
                              CB Florence
                              CB Corner

                              S Whitner
                              S Scott
                              S Byrd
                              S Wilson

I put CB and Safety as starters because they all pretty much are the way the NFL offense is ran now were you have to have a nickel package most of the time now....
I no Im forgetting some guys but thats the way I see it now...
