Wow... 1 year at just $2.5 million:

Veteran guard Alan Faneca (http://www.nfl.com/players/alanfaneca/profile?id=FAN049971) agreed to a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Arizona Cardinals (http://www.nfl.com/teams/arizonacardinals/profile?team=ARI), a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora on Tuesday.

The deal is fully guaranteed, so Faneca, whom the New York Jets (http://www.nfl.com/teams/newyorkjets/profile?team=NYJ) released last weekend despite paying him $5.25 million, will make $7.75 million next season. He would have made $7.5 million in total compensation from the Jets had they kept him.

Lyle Sendlein (http://www.nfl.com/players/lylesendlein/profile?id=SEN108904) is the incumbent center, and free-agent signee Rex Hadnot (http://www.nfl.com/players/rexhadnot/profile?id=HAD772615) can play that position or guard. Levi Brown will move to left tackle, replacing Gandy, and Brandon Keith (http://www.nfl.com/players/brandonkeith/profile?id=KEI389074) will compete for the right tackle spot. Left guard Reggie Wells (http://www.nfl.com/players/reggiewells/profile?id=WEL570156) will return, but right guard Deuce Lutui (http://www.nfl.com/players/deucelutui/profile?id=LUT476816), a restricted free agent, hasn't yet signed his tender, possibly leaving a spot open for Faneca.

Whisenhunt told the Cardinals' official Web site (http://www.azcardinals.com/news-and-events/article-1/Faneca-Finally-A-Card/208beea3-1753-481f-a2cc-824432cf64c5) that Faneca isn't guaranteed a starting job.
