So basically it's his last year, he's just screwed us longterm out of the pirates HC az he'll be picked up after the playoffs without a doubt.

The Sabres picked up the option year of his contract. How is that Lindy's fault? But it is Lindy and Darcy's last year contract wise.

Regier said he intends to be active in free agency this offseason in a bid to improve a team that struggled on offense and with an inconsistent power play that went 0 for 19 against Boston.

Either they were good actors who scripted an Oscar-winning performance before the microphones or they really do care about winning a championship for this town. Ruff made it clear that bringing a Stanley Cup to Buffalo, not just to himself, was the reason he keeps coming back. Look for him to sign a contract extension within the next year.

Darcy mentioned he wanted to be active in the free agent and trade market. Prove it by going after the best.

I don't see anywhere in all the "we're going to work on a long term deal" talk where it says it's his last season. Personally, I think Ruff will coach here until this team wins a cup, management changes and his efforts are underminded or he dies.
