The Bills continued their process of adding undrafted college free agents to their roster signing six on Thursday. One of them is a Buffalo native that starred at the University at Buffalo.

Bulls all-time leading receiver Naaman Roosevelt was signed along with Wayne State RB Joique Bell, Howard University DE Will Croner, Tulsa CB John Destin, Texas A&M-Kingsville G Jorge Guerra and Virginia Tech CB Stephan Virgil.

I got a chance to talk to him yesterday; he's beyond thrilled.

He's also keeping his college number with the Bills. #18

I sponsor Roosevelt to beat out Stevie Johnson, this is my new underdog. I'm pulling for you Namaan, do it up, brother.

What would make you think that Roosevelt could be good enough to be a #2 this season?

I doubt it. Johnson had started to show something last year until he had that chest injury. I think he's poised to step up this year...

Hopefully Chad Jackson shows something too.

I don't live in Buffalo so I don't know much about him. I am counting on you guys to fill me in on this guy since I do not want to do the google.

Return guy?

Probably not with running a 4.6 40. Plus he didn't do it much in college that I know of.

6'0, 180, 4.55-4.65 speed.

Former QB turned WR still very raw. Has solid hands, and deceptive athleticism. Runs few routes and really has to work on his footwork in and out of breaks. Likely to struggle with seperation in the NFL.

Like a PS guy if he can play better than Donald Jones (Youngstown St) and David Nelson (Florida).

He is a former QB, but he hasn't played QB since high school at St. Joes

Did you see me say he played QB at UB??

I could easily see him making the team but not higher than a 4.
Evans
Hardy
Johnson
Easly
Roosevelt

I don't think Roosevelt will be a #2 but he could be a #3 or #4 possession-type receiver. I watched him at UB for 4 years and the guy has terrific hands and holds onto the ball even after he gets decked. I don't see him as a returner. He'll be the guy who runs the underneath pattern when you need 3-5 yards for a 1st.

I think Nix missed out signing Safety Mike Newton from UB. (The Colts got him. Now they have 3 UB players!) When the scouts saw his pro day work out they all asked why this kid wasn't invited to the combine.

I just think Pat was pointing it out, that's all.

maybe it was pat's way of trying to say that it wasn't an attempt to have him go for the qb position... then again........

He sounds like another WR that we had from UB...Drew Haddad. I'm sorry...but I don't see him making the roster unless he wows the hell outta everyone. My prediction for the WRs....

Lee Evans
James Hardy
Roscoe Parrish (I think he 'll make the team and be perfect as a slot WR)
Steve Johnson
Easley

Roosevelt makes the PS and eventually gets promoted to 6th WR.

Roosevelt was not a world-beater and the MAC is not the NFL. But he' a local kid and we all cheer for him. I do think he'll work his ass off for it.

Hes field fast though with good upfield acceleration after the catch... andre reed ran a 4.55 but on tape he ran a 4.3...

Roosevelt, a Buffalo native who played his high school football at St. Josephs, signed with his hometown team. Roosevelt broke every major receiving record at UB, after being converted from the quarterback position. Roosevelt was a three-time Mid-American Conference selection, including first-team All-MAC as a junior and senior in a brilliant career. He finished as the Bulls career leader in receptions (268), receiving yards (3,551) and receiving touchdowns (28). He broke the school record with 104 receptions in 2008 for 1,402 yards and 13 touchdowns, all single-season records.

In 2009, Roosevelt led the Bulls in receiving with 70 catches for 964 yards and nine touchdowns in only 10 games. The 6-0, 187-pounder, had five 100-yard receiving games and saved one of the best games of his career for last, with an eight-catch, 165-yard, three-touchdown performance against Ohio in his final game. Roosevelt, who broke nearly all of the receiving records of Drew Haddad (‘96-99), follows Haddad into the NFL with the Bills, as Haddad was a seventh round pick of the Bills in the 2000 draft.
