Does Anyone Know Where The UT and the NT line up?

I was just on Buffalobills.com and people were arguing about where they line up. The only source I had was Ingtar 33's analysis of the 46 from this site. In it he claims the NT lines up between the Center and SS guard. The UT lines up against the WS guard.

Well, someone else quotes from Shout's Larry Bump. Bump says that Levra claims that the NT lines up between Center and WS guard, the UT takes on the SS guard.

A lot of he said, he said...Does anyone know which source is correct?

    My money is on Ing.

I always thought that the "under" side was the weak side and the "over" side was the strong side.

      Nose Tackle is a 3-4 term, isn't it ?

Normally. But the Bills play a 4-3 where they label one DT under tackle and the other nose tackle. The nose tackle is to take on the center and a guard and the under tackle should be one on one on the other guard and must penetrate upfield.

I found this definition for under tackle on Fantasymvp.com

Under Tackle - A defensive tackle that lines up outside the offensive guard to the side of the wide receiver.

This means that the OTHER SIDE would have the TE and be the STRONG SIDE! So here is something that agrees with Ingtar. If anyone has something better jump in.

I would have to agree with Baal.
I would think based upon his description that the under tackle would be on the strong side. Otherwise the line would be inbalanced to the weak side, with on DE protecting the entire strong side. Doesn't make sense that way.

Pat one on one with a guard is a great matchup.

But there ARE other things that conflict. If you look at the Bills depth chart it looks different than this description. I am confused.

i was under the impression that the under tackle covered the oppositions #1 WR.. no?

Depth charts are static. The tackle roles change, depending on the offensive formation/stunt, etc.

i always thought the NT lined up on the C, and the UT lined up wherever scheemed.
                    Its all about the quest.

The NT takes on the Center and One Guard.

The UT takes on the other guard.

The question is really: Will Sam Adams play the center and SS guard or Center and WS guard.

And also is Pat Williams on WS guard or SS guard.
