Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post and Ravens insider had an interesting tweet moments ago.

"I've been told that Bills cornerback Leodis McKelvin is unavailable for trade."

I dont know if that is directly related to Gaither or not, but its certainly interesting that he posted that.

I'm trying to learn more about this as it develops.

Good. McKelvin is going to be our shutdown corner for the next 10 years and let's be realistic: McGee and Florence will need to be replaced within a few years and there's a reason Leo was considered one of the best players in the 2008 Draft - he's a terrific football player that with the right coaching which he undoubtedly will receive from Catavolos should become a shutdown CB for us

McKelvin is going to be a star. I don't know how anyone could think we would trade him.

And to answer your initial question, yes Pat. Ravens fans have been tweeting their local media outlets asking if it would be possible to get McKelvin, and it is a re-occurring proposition on their message boards.

Agreed mostly.. I like McKelvin a lot.

HOwever, some may value a strong OT over a strong CB.

I think its irrelevent though because there's no way the Bills are trading one of their best young players.

If you remember, the Ravens were very high on Donte Whitner. I am willing to bet Donte Whitner would be part of a deal.

Joe Logan just confirmed through his source that water is actually dry.

McKelvin for Oher straight up. Other than that, no deal.

Corner or Youboty.

if we make a deal with the Ravens I guarantee Newsome owns Nix in that deal.

It would be a bad trade if we give up Mclovin. Youbouty, whitner, corner Florence (I like Florence but he's getting older) then no problem with that. Mclovin has the potential to be a legit lockdown corner in this league. I guess it would make sense for the ravens though as their main weakness on D is the secondary. If we do that trade then Nix will be walking out of that meeting with Newsome carrying his jockstrap for him as sav. Ed., above mentioned.

Oh. c'mon....quit pre-*****ing.

Wait until the deal is done, and then let's see who screwed whom.

Hell, Newsome didn't exactly bend Levy over a tailgate for McGahee.

Can't blame them for wanting him. But when I was a kid, my mother told me that you can't always have what you want. There was a lot of truth in that statement.

When I used to say I wanted something when I was a kid, my mom always said "how does it feel to want?". I hated that.

Flacco and Gaither for McKelvin and our first.

I'd do McKelvin for Oher, but not for Gaither. If any of you follow other sports (especially hockey) then you know that a player like McKelvin will not go for a player like Gaither.

The Ravens are dealing from a point of strength so they have less leverage. They can take our 2nd and a scrub and be happy about it. McKelvin/Byrd are off limits. Gailey does not want to take away from our major strength (secondary), though I could see someone like Whitner going the other way with a pick.

Ideally a 4th rounder and Whitner would make this trade

The Ravens would laugh us out of the building, though I'm not sure I'd even do it. I love our 1st next year (top 5 as it stands) and I'm a huge McKelvin fan. Gaither is a top 10LT, but is an RFA.

This place is so comical. The Bills should be able to get good young potential stars like Gaither for our garbage but when it comes to guys on our roster (Lynch) we should keep them if we don't "value". Why should'nt the Ravens just keep Gaither if they don't get what they think is fair?
