Bettman news conference 2010-05-13, 10 AM EST

Word is he is extending the Habs/Pens series to a best of 9. Games 8 and 9 go Friday and Sunday in Pittsburgh. Pending the results, the series may be extended to a best of 11.

Is also possible the team with the most shots will be declared winner of series.

Bettman still has 2 of his NBC markets in the Conference Finals - Boston/Philly and Chicago.

It could be worse for him - it could be Anaheim v Edmonton and Buffalo v Carolina, a la 2005-06.

The only way he can help the NHL is by resigning...

While Miller certainly isn't the talent or the draw of Ovechkin or Crosby, his popularity grew tremendously with the Olympics and it would probably help the league to have the best American-born player still in there.

The NHL lost BIG with those three going out early (not that I particularly care in the cases of Ovechkin and Crosby- I'm glad neither of those guys are getting a Cup this year).
