RET Trindon Holliday signed over the weekend with the Houston Texans, 4yr-1.8 million. I think the numbers might be off though because Im pretty sure the rookie minium is above the 466K that Holiday would be making per year in this deal.

Either way though the floodgates should now be opening!

where is this irrational optimism about the "competence" of a 70+ year old rookie gm coming from?

Same place your pessimism comes from. You have turned into a very bitter poster.

Something tells me CJ aint like Maybin and wont hold out like that. Seems Nix actually believes in developing AND keeping our own players.

Vikings Sign 7th Rounder D’Imperio (http://blog.vikings.com/2010/05/17/vikings-sign-7th-rounder-dimperio/)

In today’s Monday Morning Mailbag (http://www.vikings.com/news/article-1/Monday-Morning-Mailbag/0ffe149d-0472-46a9-8c66-c6543e1cd5d9) I said it might take until June for us to see draft picks signing contracts. As it turns out, one Vikings draft pick signed his contract today.
Converted FB Ryan D’Imperio (he played LB in college) has signed with the Vikings. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.
D’Imperio played LB at Rutgers but the Vikings worked him out as a FB before the draft and liked what they saw. So they selected him with the 30th pick of the 7th round – #237 overall – and will see what he can do on the offensive side of the ball.

The 49ers (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/teams/SFX) announced they have locked up seventh round draft choice Phillip Adams (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/players/109243/Phillip_Adams), a cornerback out of South Carolina State, with a four year deal. Adams (5-11, 192) was a 2009 first-team All-Mid Eastern Athletic Conference selection.
