He doesn't really fit in this D anymore as he seems more like a tweener type now between LB and DB. He just doesn't seem to have the right size or speed to put anywhere. I could definitely see him getting cut this year unless they feel like he's a really valuable ST player, but I doubt it.

Another guy I'm more interested in how he fits, is Nic Harris. I really liked his potential coming out, but I don't know if he really has a place in the 3-4 either.

Ellison is not a 3-4 LB. He's not big enough for the inside, and he lacks the speed and pass rush skills for the outside. He's officially a LB/S tweener. He's here, so work him out at S and see how he does, then most likely cut him.

Ellison isn't a LB in this league at all...3-4, 4-3...whatever...he's too small and he sucks.

yeah but I'm not talking about the rest of the league- I'm just talking about the Bills.

Harris was a safety coming out of college, so they may move him back there (to compete with our existing safeties plus Corto, who has also shifted back to safety.) Don't know if Ellison could play there or not.

He can't.... but he's already on the team so there's no harm in letting him try to compete at S.

i wont say he sucks he was a productive player but then again who wouldnt be when every run gets to the second level.

regardless he doesnt fit here in any form only reason i can see him on roster is to trade during camp for a 6th or 7th in case a 4-3 team has an olb go down. he is an asset on certain teams. just not ours

I was always under the impression that Harris just doesn't have the speed to play safety at the NFL level, which is too bad because he was a heck of a playmaker.

He doesn't. Take it from someone who saw him play college ball in person. Much better suited for linebacker.

So do you think he's a fit at LB in the 3-4?

Personally? No.

Going from safety to 4-3 linebacker and now he's being asked to change schemes to a 3-4.... The odds are stacked against him. But I am hoping he proves me wrong.

Ellison fits in a garbage can at someone else's stadium.

Camp depth, in case of injuries.

This is a new admin.and barring injury, many familiar faces will be cut.

3rd down nickel LB

A fairly important role for a lot of 3-4 teams, but I think Nic Harris has a good shot at being a better fit for that spot.

I can tell you he's been getting a ton of time on the field during first two practices
