Be nice if Brown gave an update when he posts again of what the 1st team lineups were.

Jamon "The Titanic" Meredith has lined up at left tackle.
Brian THE BROHM BOMBER is getting first team reps.
James Hardy looks like Jerry Rice out there and is starting.
Watch out for Kirk Chambers. He is dominating in shorts and a t-shirt. Starting right guard? Today he is.

Gailey on Marshawn
Chris Brown
Posted May 25, 2010 – 2:43 pm

Bills head coach Chan Gailey was asked specifically by the media Tuesday if he anticipated Marshawn Lynch not being in attendance for the start of voluntary OTAs.
Gailey indicated that he didn’t think he’d be on hand for day one.
“I assumed he wasn’t going to be here,” said Gailey Tuesday. ”I didn’t assume he was. So I didn’t plan on it and none of this is mandatory. We ask them to all come and participate to learn. None of it is mandatory until the last minicamp.”
Lynch in an interview with Yahoo Sports over the weekend said he intended to be in Buffalo, “sometime in the next week.”

Edwards first to be first (http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/2010/05/edwards-first-to-be-first-.html)

Trent Edwards worked with the first offensive unit throughout the first day of spring practice Tuesday for the Buffalo BIlls. Edwards took the first snaps in all the sessions of the workout. Ryan Fitzpatrick followed Edwards. Brian Brohm got the third chance and rookie Levi Brown was the fourth QB in the mix. That's expected to rotate throughout the spring. Nevertheless, Edwards was the first to be first and got some more repetitions than the other QBs.
The first-team offensive line, from left to right, was Jamon Meredith, Andy Levitre, Geoff Hangartner, Kirk Chambers and Cornell Green. Demetrius Bell and Eric Wood were both watching on the side but both were doing some running before practrice. Wood was so eager to participate he snapped the ball to the quarterbacks in 7 on 7 drills.
On defense, free-agent signee Andra Davis was starting at inside linebacker with Paul Posluszny, ahead of Kawika Mitchell, who started outside last year. The three-man defensive line was Marcus Stroud, Kyle Williams and Dwan Edwards. At outside linebacker were Chris Kelsay and Aaron Maybin. Terrence McGee and Drayton Florence were the first two cornerbacks, but Leodis McKelvin, coming off injury, was mixed in with the starters. Jairus Byrd and Donte Whitner were at safety. The second-team defense included Spencer Johnson, Torell Troup and John McCargo on the line; Chris Ellis, Mitchell, Keith Ellison and Danny Batten at linebacker; and Reggie Corner, Bryan Scott, George Wilson and McKelvin at defensive back.
Keeping in mind that spring and training camp practice highlights can be taken with a grain of salt (Rob Johnson, Lonnie Johnson and Anthony Gray were former All-Fredonia campers), here were some highlights from 7 on 7 passing work: Edwards hit Lee Evans in perfect stride on a deep ball down the right sideline vs. Corner. Edwards also hit a good long ball to rookie Marcus Easley vs. Corner. Corner had a pickoff on hitch-pattern thrown by Fitzpatrick. James Hardy ran a nice out pattern on a catch on time from Edwards. Levi Brown hit a deep throw to Easley over the outside shoulder. Good pass. Easley, the fourth-round pick from Connecticut, is 6-2, 207 pounds. He looks a little thicker in the upper body than one would expect from a rookie.

D-Bell expects to be ready (http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/2010/05/dbell-expects-to-be-ready.html)

Third-year offensive tackle Demetrius Bell, the Buffalo Bills' prospective starter on the left side of the line, says he fully expects to be ready for the start of training camp in late July.
Bell suffered a torn ligament in his right knee in a game against Tennessee last season. He was doing running along with guard Eric Wood before Tuesday's spring practice. He and Wood (coming back from a broken leg) watched the full team practice.
"Oh yeah, I'll definitely be ready for training camp; definitely; that's my plan," Bell said after the team's workout.
A full report on Bell's progress will be online later today and in Wedensday's editions of The Buffalo News.

OTAs - Day 1 - QB competition underway

By Chris Brown, Lead Journalist
Posted 46 minutes ago

The first day of organized team activities for the Bills saw almost the entire balance of the roster in attendance for the voluntary session Tuesday. It was also day one of the open quarterback competition, and there were two signal callers taking the majority of the reps.
Head coach Chan Gailey however, made it clear that there was a reason <nobr>Trent Edwardshttp://www.buffalobills.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/trent-edwards/26db3ddb-7753-4604-ac7f-eb78856a889a/)</nobr> and <nobr>Ryan Fitzpatrickhttp://www.buffalobills.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/ryan-fitzpatrick/d260ac2d-12f2-4322-b794-02830c8319c8/)</nobr> saw the bulk of the work in individual and team drills Tuesday.

Not a fan of Bell, Schou and Wood missing, nor that Jairus, Terrence, Geoff, Marcus and Kawika are "rehabbing" still... Sco and Harris... meh...

So first team D looked like...

Stroud - Williams - Edwards
Maybin - Posluszny - Davis - Kelsay
McGee - Whitner - Byrd - Florence

... I am pleased with this. If we can stick Troup at NT, McKelvin at the other CB spot, maybe toss Scott in at SS and hope that one of the young OLB's takes over in Kelsays spot (or Schobel comes back)... then damn, we have a solid looking D.

Gailey’s expertise noticed early (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/05/26/gaileys-expertise-noticed-early/)
By Chris Brown - Posted May 26, 2010 – 8:21 am

While this may be the first week that the majority of the roster is on the field for the first time, several of the players have been at One Bills Drive for most of the last two months participating in the offseason conditioning program and studying the new offensive and defensive schemes in the classroom. In particular the offensive players have had the opportunity to get a feel for Chan Gailey as an offensive mind. To a man they’re coming away impressed.
Gailey’s offenses through the years have consistently scored points, something sorely needed with Buffalo’s recent history. Trent Edwards already sees how that might change for the better under Gailey as he’s had time to see how his head coach’s offensive approach works.
“The thing I like most about Chan right now is I’ve never been around a guy that’s very conscientious of what offensive plays set up other plays,” said Edwards. ”You’ll talk to him about that, and he’s doing a lot of motion and shifting trying to disguise on certain plays so it doesn’t look like the same play to the defense. That’s nice (to see) as a quarterback.
“You’re sitting there talking to him and he understands certain formations we run are a lot of the same plays and some coordinators get pretty basic and pretty predictable. And I feel like Chan isn’t going to be that predictable. You’re kind of keeping the defense off balance and that’s nice as a quarterback to have.”
Just listening to the quarterbacks you can tell they are confident that their head coach, who is also their offensive coordinator, is going to have moves and counter moves for opposing defenses this season.

Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick transcripts from OTA - 5/25 (http://www.wgr550.com/Trent-Edwards-and-Ryan-Fitzpatrick-transcripts-fro/7321248)
TRENT EDWARDS: On if having another year under his belt helps prepare him for OTAs: It’s still the first day. It’s always tough to get back into football mode a little bit. There are plays and things that you haven’t done in awhile, there’s muscles you haven’t used in a long time that you’re trying to figure out how to use them.

Fitz is 1st man through (http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2010/05/26/fitz-is-1st-man-through/)
By Chris Brown - Posted May 26, 2010 – 1:26 pm

Bills head coach Chan Gailey said the quarterback rotation and reps has all been laid out from now until the end of June, so shifts in the rotation and rep count were to be expected. And there was a change on day 2 of OTAs.
On Wednesday, Ryan Fitzpatrick was the first quarterback through in the rotation during 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 work. During 7-on-7 Trent Edwards was the quarterback that followed Fitzpatrick in the rotation. During 11-on-11 Brian Brohm followed Fitzpatrick with Edwards after him. Rookie Levi Brown was fourth in both rotations.
More to come on the home page of Buffalobills.com this afternoon on both the written and video side in Bills Roundup.

I wonder why Brohm got more team work reps than Edwards.

Also, doesn't seem like Brown is getting a fair shot. Not that I expect him to start, but I don't think it's out of the question for him to finish top three on the depth chart and kick someone out.

Yes, we are THAT bad at QB.

Probably because he got much less yesterday.

I really hope people don't read into every single little thing all offseason (not directed at you, BillsWin).

I love the fact that Chan Gailey says "We don't know what we're doing...". Awesome.

"QB Trent Edwards is working with the first unit in team drills. After several short throws -- which Edwards is known for -- he connected with WR Lee Evans on a deep ball down the right side for what would've been a 59-yard TD"Trent often throws nice deep balls in practice.

By all accounts I've heard nothing but good things about Levi Brown so far. From attitude to progress and arm strength to accuracy.

I also talked to a Troy fan who watched every game last season and says we got a good one for next to nothing.
