Slimmed-down Stroud fills new roll

You can tell by looking at Marcus Stroud that he hasn't spent his time away from the Buffalo Bills lounging by a swimming pool.
He is noticeably trimmer after dropping 20 pounds during the offseason. The Bills didn't ask him to lose the weight. He just thought it was the right thing to do.
"I went into the weight room a little more and worked on my conditioning as well," said Stroud, who tips the scales at 300 pounds. "I wanted to lose the weight so I could be a little quicker and get everything healthy so I could go out here and put on a good performance."

I hate this. This is excatly what Schobel did. Also unsolicitied and we know how that turned out.

My theory is that it's easier to lose weight than put the work in the gym.

He lost 20 and is now 300 lbs which is at the top end of the ideal range for a 3-4 DE. Its a smart move given he needs to be more athletic this season given his position change.

Are you serious man? You do realize Stroud still weighs 300 pounds per the article?? Wasn't schobel down to like 225? Losing the 20 pounds from 320 to 300 makes sense to me. He needed to be quicker.

Who cares who asked him to do it? He took the initiative to get to the ideal weight for his position. Kudos to him. Would you rather he balooned to 350?

Agree on Schobel, disagree on Stroud.

242 is too light for a 4-3 DE.

300 is a good size for a 3-4 DE- in fact, it's still a little on the large size, which is a pleasant change from being undersized at every ****ing defensive position IMO.

If Stroud were playing NT or 4-3 DT, I'd agree with you, but as a 3-4 DE, I have no problems with this and I think it may actually help.

If he ballooned to 350 without the coaches telling him, he's a slob and a lazy lard ass. He takes the inititiative to fit the role and it's a problem. HH is a joke.

btw, Stroud is filling a new ROLE. If he lost 20 pounds, he's probably no longer eating rolls.
