    Lions wrap up mini-camp one day early

    ALLEN PARK, Mich. - The Detroit Lions were the first team in the NFL to hold a mini-camp when they gathered at the team's Allen Park Headquarters and Training Facility back in early April.

    Now, 12 weeks later, the Lions were still on the practice field for the second of a three-day mini-camp for selected veterans and rookies. That was when Steve Mariucci threw the players a bone.

    The Lions head coach gave the players an option to do a little more work Tuesday morning and then break camp one day early.
