View Full Version : Whatever happened to Derek Fine?

He just kind of faded away like a distant memory.

I remember a lot of people getting excited after his first ever reception was a touchdown (rookie year).

Did he get injured, or did he just suck so bad we cut our losses and dumped him?

Where is he now?

Fine was claimed off waivers by the St. Louis Rams (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Louis_Rams) on February 17, 2010. He was waived on March 5, 2010.

He was always overrated by fans because of his measureables. I always felt Schouman was the better player, and now MM and Nelson (and the vagabond Klopfenstein) made Fine irrelevant.

Outside of height/weight, Schouman had better measurables than Fine as far as combine numbers etc.

It's not like Fine has been away from the organization for too long, but apparently Klopfenstein is better than him.

i dont think anyone overrated him.. except the staff that wasted a 4th round pick on the guy.. everyone and their brother was pissed about the pick, as there were a lot of good TEs on the board that people had actually heard of, like jermichail finely, i believe. the bills brass fed us that "hes a complete tight end" crap.

Finley was drafted before Fine, in the third.

He was painfully slow and couldn't separate at all.
