Lt. Robert Kalsu was drafted in the 8th round in 1968 by the Buffalo Bills, that year he started every game at guard and became the Bills rookie of the year. Following that season, he joined the Army and in 1969 went to Viet Nam as part of the 101st Airborne division. On July 21st, 1970 he was killed in a mortar attack. He was the only NFL player to lose his life in that war. On this Memorial Day, let us all remember the sacrifice he made and all the other fallen heros of wars, past and present

Re: Remembering Lt. Robert (Bob) Kalsu
I sat in the stands for 4 games that season, including our only win over the SB winning Jets. Kalsu felt a higher calling and gave his life.
