Heading into the 2009 NFL Draft, the Bills needed to re-tool their offensive line in hopes of building a foundation for the next decade. This is an area where the Bills have struggled since the Super Bowl years when they had a starting five that they could count on. With the trade of disgruntled left tackle Jason Peters to the Philadelphia Eagles before the draft, the Bills had a second first-round pick at their disposal. They could have gone a number of different directions when they were on the clock, but when a player of Eric Wood's caliber was available late in the first round, they simply could not pass him up. Wood, a right guard from Louisville, was dominant as a rookie, and was exactly what Bills fans have been hoping for in an offensive lineman.

Terry awesome work man, great interview by both. Loved what he said about his bones healing perfectly and the last question was awesome. I know 6 rows up I will be chanting E Wood.

Nice work Terry.

The more I here from Wood, the more I like him. He seems well grounded, and seems really determined to work hard and do whatever it takes to help the team win. Proper football player.

Good job T, good job!!

Wood: I think this year will be an exciting year for Bills fans. New coach, new players and hopefully an exciting new offense. I like our group of players that we have on our team and feel that it's time to stay healthy and win the division. I can't wait to run out of the tunnel this year for the first home game and have the crowd chanting "E Wood" until the opening kickoff like they did for T.O. last year (sarcasm, but not completely sarcastic).

That's exactly how he wrote it and I kept it that way. My editor didn't change it either...grammar is not my responsibility with these!
