I know it's a ways away, but....................

Feel free to post questions and maybe we'll be lucky enough to get some answers!

- How many out-of-towners plan on attending?

- Is Williamsville still a good central location to find lodging? (for zone activities...)

- Is anyone interested in looking into group rates? (hotel snobs please post the names of the hotels you're willing to stay at!!!! ;) )

- Who is going to need a ride from/to the airport?

- Who is willing to play airport cabbie?

*There's a discounted entry fee if you register early for the 5K Eb has been talking about*

I know I will be in town for the festivities...

I do not have tickets to opening day yet. I will, however, be there for tailgating, and scouring for tickets after kickoff from the scalpers who couldn't sell them pre-game. If not? Listening to it outside.

Almost guarantee I get tickets before that day though... There was talk of a luncheon day prior and/or party pre-night with zoners? I can't remember and I'm too lazy to look.

Yeah... we always have lunch and the pre-tailgate on Saturday. I'm not sure where that will be this year though.

I am planning on heading to Buffalo Saturday morning and getting a hotel room. I should be at the Zone lunch, not sure what time or where it is, anyone know? Also need to know what parking lot everyone tailgates in?

So far, so good!

We might fly to Canada, then drive to BLo.
We might stay for 7 to 10 days up north.
We might stay in Canada for at least 5 days.
We might stay in the Buffalo area for at least 3 days.

If all the above becomes a reality, me and my family will attend for sure any of the zone activities!! :beers: :boozer:  :xtreme:

P.S. The last buffalo fan, do not run, just drinks!

One thing to keep in mind too, for the safety of those who are driving to/from the airports/meeting locales, that the Bills and Raiders are the test dummies for the new MADD/NFL drunk driving campaign:

It took me a couple of times to find it. Look for the cheap bourbon. And Indiana plates of some sort.

It was fine while we were there and we went the night before the season opener! They had bars all over the place and the ones outside on the balconies were especially accessible.

The place that sucked going to on Sat. before a game was the Anchor Bar. Now THAT was crowded!

But I don't know about parking... we take cabs around to be safe!

Parking easier at Brunners.
Drinking cheaper at Brunners.
Speaking to the person next to you or next to them easier at Brunners.
Can bring some outside food with you at Brunners.

Pearl Street mostly flashier for those interested in that kind of thing.

Don't know what I am doing this year, but for any out of towners who may need a ride somewhere I can probably help out. Wait, any non puking out of towners. :D

Well I'll put it this way... I visit Buffalo maybe twice per year and I usually always bring several people along with me. It's nice to take them to a nice place rather than a dive! And why the heck would you want to bring your own food in to a pub, Marshawn?

realdealryan
09-01-2010, 07:24 AM
The two people that are coming with us are going to some nice places Saturday & Monday and the Ralph on Sunday. I'll make them hit Brunner's because I had a hell of a steak sandwich (that I'll be let down by, I'm sure). It's a "manageable" dive, at the very least....I don't feel like Eddie Murphy walking into the bar in 48 hours.

By all means if you are bringing friends and want them to have a nice atmosphere, then go to the places like Brew Pub and Pearl Street.

Brunners is in no way a dive. It sure might not be a top flight place, but I equate a dive with a place that you might be scared to go out into the parking lot by yourself for fear that you will be jumped. I've been in dives and that place isn't one IMO. It is a typical neighborhood bar and is far from pretty. But I only go to bars to meet people. I like to be able to talk to them. In those other bars, I have a very hard time hearing the person I am standing next to let alone a small group of people. I also don't like having to pay for the atmosphere and watered down drinks. I don't want to get tanked, but paying an extra buck or two per drink is a little much for me. What I meant about bringing food in, is that they allow you to order a pizza and wings and bring them in. That is very nice of them. I don't necessarily go to those places to eat a full meal. A couple wings and or pizza is plenty.

I'm too old to go to a place just because it is "pretty" or "happinin".
