Don't know if this was mentioned when the Mitchell article was previously posted...

Mitchell is considered an inside linebacker in the 3-4 scheme, and is competing with Paul Posluszny for the spot to play alongside Andra Davis, an offseason free-agent addition, who's taken over the play-calling duties.

Poz said he'd rather learn from an experienced 3-4 LB, rather than jump in to the fray.

Good for Pos. Better to sit back and learn the new D before jumping into the play calling aspect.

I love it, now all the kid has to do is ball, he's going to have a monster season.

It's mainly because of Davis' experience in the 3-4.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Pos calling the plays later in the season, or next season at the latest. Although it's possible that Gailey and co. will bring in their own guy next year to take over.

Really I was referring to his nick name P.O.S., so is Yardie for the record as well.

This isnt the national spelling bee, nobody can spell that damn last name!

In Pos Interview he mentions Davis is the main caller but he is also learning both positions so he can call the plays if Davis goes down or so he can play that position if it calls for it.

Not that it really matters that much but POSLUSZNY spells it POZ as shown on the autographed pic below.

I wish Mitchell the best of luck with his next team.

There must be an arm tackling league somewhere that could use his services.

I don't think Davis is going to be a playmaker for us, but this is exactly why he was a good acquisition. Davis is a stopgap and this will allow Poz to learn take over play-calling for him next season, if not sooner.

I agree, he's good stopgap who will help us stop the run. I think Moats will eventuantly surplant him in the lineup after a year of being groomed.

Thank God he looked like a dumbass in that interview. Sure is a good football player though....He has no real time in 3-4 anyway.

Yet if we want to compare him to another over hyped LB (see Brian "The Boz" Bosworth) we need to spell it Poz.

Sounds more like they're easing him in to the new system rather than simply taking responsibilities away from him.
