When Lance Schulters heard the click of the handgun pointed at him, when he believed, deep in his heart, the man holding the weapon was ready to shoot him, he let go.
Schulters simply dropped the keys to his luxury sedan and ran.
Yesterday, less than 24 hours after being robbed as he left a North Nashville restaurant, the Titans safety said he believed that blink-of-an-eye decision saved his life.
''He just pulled the gun out and cocked it back, that's what made me run,'' Schulters said. ''If you're going to rob somebody, you're going to stick them up. But you **** it back, nah, you're trying to shoot somebody then.
'' You just don't **** a gun at somebody without using it. That made me panic right there, that's why I took off. I feared for my life.''
