Glad he did. He left on good terms and was always a solid guy.

He should've been wearing a Sabres jersey holding that cup

Good for him.

I don't feel bad for Briere. He may be an ex-Sabre, but he is also a Flyer now so tough ****.

Really doesnt matter either way IMO but I guess he should be happy.
He never wanted to leave B-LO, they traded him with out even trying to get a contract done with him....

Couldn't you take every Cup winner and say that guy was an ex-<insert team> and won the Cup?

Except their ex's won the Cup as a member of their team, no ex-Sabre can say that...

Why would I get my panties in a bunch about it either way.

I just hope I'm alive to see it.

I look at it this way. The Sabres are about to celebrate their 40th year as a franchise, right? The Hawks just won their first Cup in 49 years, so technically they have been waiting/suffering longer.

Plus I see how Boston had a cycle of championships, Pittsburgh has had a mini cycle. It's bound to happen eventually.

I hope.

The Sabres made the trade after contract talks with Campbell broke off this past weekend. Campbell, eligible to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, rejected a three-year deal worth more than $17 million.

Campbell was emotional after learning of the trade, insisting he wanted to remain in Buffalo but was looking for a longer-term deal.
