Little RB nugget I found interesting.

In the history of the Buffalo Bills franchise, there has only been one player to lead the team over a full season in both rushing and receiving yards.

Did you know the player we’re referring to is Joe Cribbs? In 1983 Cribbs led the Bills in rushing yards (1,131) and receiving yards (531).

The Bills weren’t even that bad either. Under first-year coach Kay Stephenson they’d finish the ’83 season at 8-8. Of course, older Bills fans will remember that over the next two years the Bills put up consecutive 2-14 campaigns.

I thought the same thing. I know the game is different now and teams pass a lot more, but damn.

Actually, Cribbs receiving total is more than the leader from the year before.

According to Pro Football Reference, Frank Lewis led the Bills in 1982 with only 481 yards.

That might be because the NFL only played 9 games in 1982.

              Just a thought!

Snap.. your right.. That makes Cribbs' leading the team in 83 even more ****ty of an accomplishment.

But that also makes the rushing yards an awesome total if accomplished in 9 games.

                    '82... not '83. 9 games in '82... Cribbs' numbers are from '83.

Actually, they were 8-8 but they weren't that good...they could have easily been worse without much chance of having a better record. they looked like a team falling apart at the seams. much of the 8 wins can be attributed to some of the holdovers from the Knox era. This team wasn't good and were going nowhere.

No.. he was referrring to Frank Lewis' 1982 receiving total, which was nine games.

Both of Cribbs stats he led the team in was from a 16 game season.
