Height: 6-6. Weight: 296.
Projected 40 Time: 5.00.
Projected Round (2011):

Preseason Comments:

8/25/2010- Nate Potter is an athletic OT that could transition into a LT in the NFL. He is a better pass blocker than run blocker at this point. He starts at LT but Kellen Moore is a lefty so its not the blindside. Nate lettered in basketball, track and field, and lacrosse in high school. He needs to add more bulk since he is only 296. Potter has been moved to G this spring. It will be interesting to see if he stays there.

Comments:

9/6/2010- vs. VT

1st Qtr:
14:34- Tall and thin but certainly athletic
*moved back from G to LT due to injury
13:17- Gets pushed back a bit but did slide well to wall him off.
12:24- Will fight and maul but doesn't have ideal strength, he gets moved around. He plays with an attitude and shows he's quick and nimble.
4:21- Let the DE blow right around him for a huge hit on Moore. Terrible job. Didn't kick slide at all.
2:34- Better job pushing the DE wide but he's still not walling him off.

2nd Qtr:
11:36- Nice job sliding to wall off the defender.
11:06- Not much of a push on this run but used good leverage.
4:40- Doing a much better job sustaining the blocks. May have just need to shake the rust off.
3:18- Lays a nasty block that drops the DL on this run.
0:37- Nice job walling off the defender. Still not getting deep enough but much better job sustaining block.
0:09- Blew the quick block on the rusher.

3rd Qtr:
14:55- Huge block to spring the RB.
13:15- Nice job battling it out and staying with the pass block.
9:49- Runs into Moore and makes him fumble. Blew his block around the edge.
1:23- Decent job holding the block against the spin move.

Nate Potter looked very questionable at many times in this game. He isn't as strong as you would like. He isn't as technically sound either. He does have nice athleticism, is nimble and quick. But, he just isn't someone you can trust all the time on an island.
