since it's the Sabres 40th Anniversary season 20 years ago,

During the 1990 NHL Entry Draft, Hawerchuk was involved in a blockbuster trade. Along with Winnipeg's 1st round choice (Brad May) in the draft, he was dealt to the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for Phil Housley, Scott Arniel, Jeff Parker and Buffalo's 1st round choice (Keith Tkachuk).

Loved Hawerchuk but probably would rather have had Tkackuck and Housley

In retrospect, we should have stayed pat.

I seriously hope Darcy doesn't read this board.

If he does, he'll use this as his excuse for not making any big moves for the next 20 years.

What does this have to do with anything?

look at the team, Lafontaine, Hawerchuk, Mogilny then you also had second teir scoring from Audette Hhmylev Wood, ect ect. We had a decent team in 93 and if they were healthy i think they would of beaten Montreal and who would they have had to play after the Canadiens?

The Islanders and kings. The most talented team they played that year wasnt the Canadiens even though they lost to them it was the Bruins in the opening round!

it was spelled khmylev, i believe. prounced the way you spelled it though.

That 93 team was hosed by piss poor officiating, and the sabres kept fighting through it. even in game four, after a series of dubious calls, khymylev scored with seconds left to push it to overtime. That team was all heart and a bunch of talent in those playoffs. oh well.
